Oh wow I wasn't thinking. I saw them at SXSW in 2013. Not nearly the same show it is now from what I understand though

  2. Believe I've seen them 5 times out of 6 at this point. Last one was ILIWYS tour - we were on the floor and the crowd was way younger and kinda annoying. Opted out of the 5th show because the venue didnt have seating and I figured it would be a similar experience.

ILWYS songs are incredible live, though and I can't wait to see what they do with lighting this time around.

Let’s see if I can remember..

    The Sinclair (Boston) 2013

    Lupos (Providence) 2014

House of Blues (Boston) 2014 -the show where Matty famously cried :(

    Tsongas Arena (Lowell) 2016

    Boston Calling 2017

    I think that’s it

Think I’ve seen then 7 times, furthest were the O2 in London and Blackpool with the orchestra.

That is so cool. Looks like Matty turns around to George during the 1st chorus to acknowledge how crazy that moment was.

yup, exactly what happened. he like, stumbled over lyrics because he was so struck by it. one of the most affecting/human moments i've seen in concert, and regardless of how much the band means to me going forward that will be a special moment i'm glad i was there for

I have a pretty funny story. First time I saw The 1975 was in orlando house of blues, it was a radio sponsored show and the line up was Cobra Starship, The 1975, and The Script lol. this was 2014, so for some reason The Script was headlining but EVERYONE was there for the 1975.

They played 2 extra songs cause the crowd was screaming for more and matty seemed to be enjoying that quite a bit. anyways, after they finished more than half the venue left and the script played to like 40 people probably

  13. Only seen them once at Hisense Arena in Melbourne (10.5k seats and a large floor) and it was phenomenal. Might buy seated tickets next time to have a complete view of the stage. I wonder how big their next venues will be

The first time I saw them, it was a radio show in Kansas City. They were super early in the bill, opening for bands like The Naked and Famous and Portugal The Man. It was clear there were a lot of people there just for them and they left when they were done.

It's crazy how you barely hear about them down here yet they still pull out these big venues. I don't care where they play next time, as long as the Sydney venue is different to last time!

And what a way you won me over

Ive seen them twice, but both at festivals. I saw them at Reading in 2012, and I thought that they were good, but at Glastonbury 2016 they were my highlight of the weekend.

They’re basically the only band that both me and my girlfriend both love, so we’ll definitely try to see them this year.

I saw them on the ILWYS cycle in a 1500 cap with a bunch of annoying 14 year olds who wouldn't shut the hell up during If I Believe You

it was a bad time to see them but it wasn’t bc of t5 being a bad venue necessarily. i can’t remember if the boston show where matty broke down was before or after but the mood began or continued with that t5 show

I saw them in a very small venue and it was one of the best nights of my life. I saw them twice in bigger arenas and it just didn’t come close.

Yeah, I also think they might be my favorite band. At the very least, they’re the band I’m currently most invested in emotionally.
