i was going to write a big long reply about the difference between a heterosexual man writing possessive lyrics about women and women writing songs about her frustration with trying to be queer and in love but like, none of you pay me.

 

What's the issue? Those lyrics are problematic from any other standpoint

edit: by the way, considering lesbians predatory is one of the oldest and grossest LGBT stereotypes to the point where it has its own wikipedia page.

the thing is we've mentioned it to him before that he always seems to incredibly unnecessary (and often times incorrect) reverse way of thinking, but he still continues to do that. it's so concerning, especially because i (and others too) have tried to explain that before a bunch too

The matching melody is a metaphor for Michael Jackson stealing songs. It's not YOURS anymore. It belongs to MJ. THINK ABOUT IT SHEEPLE.

 

May 18th is going to be the best between this and the new Courtney Barnett album.

I don’t think I’ve ever listened to Remember Sports before, I’ll have to check them out! Thanks for the recommendation.

 

Feel like I'm totally deaf cause I do not hear the same melody as Yours at all. Really dig the "and I want it all" callbacks from SGL though, this is a great track order so far. Can't wait to hear this record in full.

It’s one of my favorite songs on the record. I’m also surprised by some people not enjoying/being into it.

 

Either way, much like how Threads was the perfect autumn album, this is the perfect summer album. Regardless of a lot of y’all’s divisive reaction to MJ, there’s gonna be a lot of happy folk here once it’s out.
