I just think it's a lazy critique. I mean, you could listen to all their shit and think it's all boring but I have met plenty of people that leveled that criticism at them and later went on to eat their words once they really dove in, you're obviously entitled to your opinion but I feel like if you really listened to their discography, you wouldn't say that. if you did, it would be fine tho. not trying to tell you what to like or anything

I’m not writing an official review. I listened to their newest album and the primary emotion I felt while listening was boredom. Not sure how that’s anymore lazy than someone listening to it and saying they “liked it.” It’s only considered lazy cause it’s negative.

 

The National is the greatest rock band in the world.

 

I used to be meh about The National in the past but I dove into their discography and found that they did have a lot of good shit in there. That and I find that as I get older, the more and more I can relate to their music.

it's a really driving song and I think it's hard to notice that at first cause it's a national song and naturally it all sounds kinda spacious too
