Is CL final really only being aired on ESPN Deportes in the US?

 

I would imagine it's on network television. Usually on Fox proper.

 

Folks, Conte is not taking Giovinco or Pirlo to the Euros because he says they play for MLS. Your thoughts?

 

I thought Pirlo's comments on the league and the youth development in the US were interesting too.

 

Pirlo is certainly past it, so I don't think that was a difficult or controversial decision. Insigne plays a similar role and style to Giovinco and has had a pretty good season in Serie A. Italy aren't exactly blessed up top, so maybe he could have taken both, but if it was a straight choice I'd take Insigne, too.

Giovinco has also scored 1 goal in 23 appearances for the national team.

 

I understand the Pirlo exclusion, but I'm not with George in that he's "past it." He's just not going to start with the good crop of midfielders Italy currently has. I think Giovinco should go, though. But if the coach is making decisions on which striker to take and all of them but that one is playing in Europe where he can watch them regularly? I kinda get it.

 

Pirlo's comments are fair and insightful. Conte is lame.

 

Giovinco should've made it on the squad, though. He was a spark plug in October vs. Norway and helped create the 2 goals that won them the game and got them in the Euro's.
