  1. Would've been too much, but I knew I wasn't the only one thinking about it.

They're saving that for when Martin Freeman's character shows up and meets Sherlock, err...I mean Dr. Strange.

You make a great point. For those who felt the ending of this film was cheap, did you feel the same way about T’Challa’s “death” in BP? When that happened it had emotional resonance for me but I immediately knew he was coming back from the dead.

I’d say that the post-death snaps being reversed by the gauntlet (which is what I assume will happen) actually makes more logical sense than T’Challa just happening to wash up on shore where the Jibari tribe (sp?) could get him and put him on ice

I kinda love how in over 14 million possible situations, when given the chance, there is not one single scenario where Quill doesn't punch Thanos in the face and fuck everything up.

I don’t think i’ll ever not judge Quill for that. It’s the dumbest thing any character from the MCU has done and caused the end of half of the living universe.

In any of those 14 million scenarios; anything else could have went wrong in place of Quill punching Thanos. Guys just found out his love is dead by the hands of her father, course he's gonna go ape-shit. I don't agree that he did and think it was stupid but can see why he'd done it. Stupid Quill. Should have let Drax go crazy on him.

with Thanos being the "mad titan" it makes sense that his plan seems kind of like a kneejerk, borderline idiotic plan. i get the sense that hes justifying the plan to himself rather than the characters or even the audience. hes chaotic, hes conquered endless planets, and he relishes the destruction he causes but the fact that hes actually convinced himself that after all these years hes doing the right thing makes him pretty interesting to me. i think hes a great villain i just wish they kept the idea of him "courting death" but i get that there hasnt really been a good way to set up the literal figure of Death in the MCU yet.

rly loved the movie, very much aware it has flaws but it was worth the payoff and i cant wait to see what direction the MCU takes after the next one.

The ending of this film isn’t intertwined with the drama and themes of the characters, so yeah, they feel cheap and pale in comparison to the deaths and defeats in Black Panther. I also don’t care too much about “logic”, as long as what happens in a story is related to character and theme. T’Challa surviving and washing up where he did is convenient, sure, but tied the Jabari into the Killmonger conflict and strengthened the bond of those characters with Wakanda. I have zero issue with those tiny plot contrivances and every issue with how weakly this movie has anything to say about what’s happening.

Lol I totally thought what ended up being Red Skull would be Death.

I didn’t say he did it all 14 million times. Just one time is enough. He should have waited until Parker and Stark pulled off the gauntlet and then he could have punched him as much as he liked.

Nah, I know. Probably just got so angry that it clouded judgement. That shot where the gauntlet was off and then Thanos grabbed it right at the last second was pretty cool.

Since Marvel left the original Avengers line-up intact, they will undoubtedly hit us over the head next year with “isn’t this cool that the original gang is back together?!”. Cap is getting his suit back. Thor has both eyes again. Hulk will get over his gammarectile dysfunction. Hawkeye will hire a sitter. As much as I saw this all coming, I’m definitely gonna throw up a “hell yeah!” fist pump when they do the inevitable back-to-back circle pose.

I know this isn't even a surprise, but I had a decent laugh seeing that Infinity War's three-day total is $17 million away from matching Justice League's worldwide total.

I expected it to veer from the comics since a lot of gathering the stones in the comics has nothing to do with the avengers, and I have low expectations for these movies, but goddamn the comic story line of The Thanos Quest and The Infinity Gauntlet is so much better. Thanos' motivations are so uninteresting and contrived in this and the movie didn't highlight any of what makes Thanos a brilliant tactician in the comics. At least they kept him wiping out half the universe.

I hope the next movie brings in the silver surfer and the other cosmic entities, make it interesting.

  23. I don't think they have the rights to that, but I could be wrong. (The lack of the entire Marvel lineup is sad.)

    Assume It's A Bit

By the time Avengers 4 comes out, they'll probably have the rights to those characters, but I don't think they can legally work with them until it's way too late to include them.
