I'm excited about this team. Maccagnan solidified the DL this year with that trade and by drafting Nathan Shepherd and Foley Fatukasi.

It's so weird to consider a DL heavy offseason after having so many great defensive linemen since 2010. We went from having Snacks Harrison, Mo Wilkerson, Sheldon Richardson, and Leonard Williams to just Leonard Williams all of a sudden. DL was all this team had going for it since the back-to-back AFC Championship losses in 2009 and 2010. The roster was completely mismanaged by Rex Ryan, John Idzik, and Mike Tannenbaum.

Wilkerson and Richardson let success get to them. I hate that Maccagnan gave Wilkerson a big contract instead of paying Snacks. It is what it is. None of them were his guys and I completely understand tearing it down. Wilkerson was awful in the locker room and on the field last season. Richardson sort of forced his way out and that trade led to us getting Sam Darnold.

His process is starting to make a lot of sense now. Todd Bowles is a defensive minded HC and Maccagnan has given him a defense of "his" guys. He has one of his guys on every level on defense (Leonard Williams, Darron Lee, and Jamal Adams).

Now he has the quarterback of the future and he can start building around Darnold now that the defense has its core group of young players. This is the first time I've been truly excited about the direction of this team since 2009. It's been a decade of embarrassment for this franchise. Hopefully Mike Maccagnan puts an end to that with his St. Patrick's Day trade up to #3.

I'm not suggesting he's washed up, more that he might have some kind of injury that prevents him from passing a physical.

The thing about the raiders, even pre-gruden is when the OL was top 5 they started letting everyone go and not restocking it so they ended up with Donald penn and dog shit otherwise

I liked Guice. I also like team chemistry and guys who will buy into what they want to do even more.

Eagles had a UDFA RB (Clement) who contributed 7TDs in 2017 (including one in the Super Bowl). I'm okay not addressing RB in the draft. They got Josh Adams as a UDFA this year and still have 4th rounder Donnell Pumphrey Jr. from last year on the roster. Add those names to Ajayi/Smallwood/Sproles.

They'll be just fine at RB.

Well yeah....Clement’s job is safe. Adams will have to beat out Pumphrey/Smallwood for a job which seems like a pretty easy thing to accomplish.

...and even then it’s not a sure thing if the Eagles roll with three out of camp (Ajayi/Clement/Sproles)

 

"scary" is certainly one possibility
