I would watch Longshot, Andrew WK and Gwar as well but that doesn't really excite me haha

I don't think we'll have Tool or Janet Jackson. I do think we'll have the rest. (Is Tool even touring this year? I think Janet will be at North Coast)

    MAMMA MIA.

"If ABBA is not booked as a Riot Fest headliner by the year 2019, the Riot Fest Twitter Person will quit and they will call for a national boycott of Riot Fest."

    I'm all for it.

It's fairly impressive that this is all we have for high probability locks at this point (excluding Janet Jackson, who I would just say is "possible").

Do we know if Northcoast announces before Riot Fest usually? They posted on social media the other day that they had a line-up announcement coming in "early May" and it very obviously had Jamiroquai's "mascot" (or whatever) on the image.

Tool isn't doing any sort of tour-tour, but they're booked for Rock on the Range along with A Perfect Circle. So it's feasible.

I could see both being on the bill.

Ohh got ya. Yea that would make sense then. Kind of seems like if A Perfect Circle plays it'd make sense to have Tool.

Really hope we’re wrong on this and everything is totally unpredicted...

And if the Longshot play, then we'll get Green Day, right? Haha. I'm half-joking. But after hearing the festival talk about how they've booked acts in the past (Misfits, Replacements)...

I can see them getting the Longshot this year, and then Green Day the following year or whatever. I'm wondering--IF it's true, anyway--if that's what might be happening with the supposed Operation Ivy thing (which is literally based on nothing but one Instagram post). And actually, if Operation Ivy played... I can see that being a way to get Green Day there too. At least to attend, haha.

Now I'm just daydreaming up some wild and crazy theories.

it would actually be amazing if they got Green Day and Op Ivy. Would we hear Knowledge twice in a weekend, or would Green Day just join Op Ivy on stage?? Endless possibilities

Really hoping for a line-up this week, but not necessarily holding my breath... Is there any precedent for "bigger" festivals announcing line-ups on different days?

Asking because Austin City Limits is apparently announcing Tuesday, and with North Coast saying they'd be announcing in "early May" last week (which makes me think it'll be the week of the 7th; otherwise, why not just say "next week")... Sort of leaves Riot Fest with a limited window for an announcement unless they're late on it again which would just be a tease considering how early we got it last year, haha.

Vince Staples isn't playing - he'll be opening for Childish Gambino on 9/8 in Chicago.

Mastodon and Dinosaur Jr. are touring together, and have shows every day of Riot Fest weekend.

Whoops! Actually Vince is only opening a few dates, not all of them, so he might still be in play.

I saw that image first and thought it was an announcement for the line-up announcement, haha.

At this point, I'm banking on next Monday/Tuesday.

Yeah next week or even the week after seem like the best bet. This week doesn't feel likely

RiotFestTwitterGuy just posted on the speculation thread on reddit: "I'll bet you all $1,000 it won't be announced this week."

Screaming Females' fall tour doesn't have a Chicago date, and they don't have any tour dates the weekend of Riot Fest (though they're in London on the 11th).

I could see it happening. They've played before.

Jawbreaker is my official Riot Fest "back-up plan" if the line-up isn't to my liking. Although, as much as I love outdoor shows in the summer/early fall... I'd still like to be able to see them in a club just once. Haha.

The Flaming Lips and Le Butcherretes are both out. Playing Taste of Chicago.

Also: The full line-up for Taste is coming out on Wednesday so... Probably definitely looking to next week for an announcement.

Fingers-crossed for Monday! I'm tired of waiting, haha.
