Some of their songs are a bit cheesy but they're the perfect band for a big outdoor stage. I saw them at Montebello Rockfest and on their tour with A7X and they were a lot of fun.

I feel like BMV's presence means there's going to be a bit more overlap with the Chicago Open Air-type bands.

    Or a heavier headliner?

The VIP tickets were originally $75 each after fees. Comes with a lot of cool stuff. Beer, acoustic performances, etc.

...if only their beer wasn't mediocre as sin.

I haven’t tried it yet! I was looking forward to it.

It's perfectly okay craft beer, but there's nothing special about it IMO. With that being said, I'd definitely still go to the festival if I didn't have a personal conflict that weekend because it's a stacked lineup. Haha.

True. They did have a Coconut one recently that was decent though.

Soundgrowler and Hailstorm down the street are great though.

We have unfortunately made it through another business week with no Riot Fest reveal

Next week is a new month so more optimism!

Did anybody catch the Riot Fest twitter guy talking about how lame "slow reveal" announcements are? Somebody referenced the Bled Fest approach and they said it would be terrible, comparing it to "watching paint dry." Shade thrown. Haha.

Slightly related: Did anybody else see that article about how the Eaux Claires festival isn't announcing any artists ahead of time this year? Pretty bold move.

I think Riot Fest might be the only festivals I'd blindly buy a ticket/book a trip to if it weren't going to be announced.

Would Panic at The Disco play riot fest? I feel like they are leaving that scene for another.

At this point? Probably not because they're so far removed from the scene. But if Janet Jackson can be a rumored act for Riot Fest, anything is possible.

They're definitely not playing this year for sure, though.

I think Panic! could play one day, but not this year since they're playing United Center in July.

That's a good point. Haha. In general, I just don't trust anybody to always deliver something I'd pay the money to travel to and attend.

For their sake? I hope it works out. That festival always books a unique line-up and does some cool shit. Not my vibe, really but... I'm glad it exists.

If A Perfect Circle seems like a lock, I definitely think Tool would be too.
