The best villains are the ones that truly believe they are doing the right thing. Someone earlier in the thread said he was being evil for the sake of being evil? I didn't get that in the slightest. You can't watch the scene with the soul stone and believe that.

My heart seriously hurts after this one. I don't think I've formed a genuine opinion on the film yet, but holy shit.

My assumption is that it has to do with the one way he saw them winning the battle. Fuck, the implications of him seeing the 14,000,000 ways the battle ends is insane.

That movie. Wow. Fuck. Was honestly one of the best cinematic experiences I've ever had.

Does anyone know why the gauntlet was so damaged at the end and where Thanos was transported to?

I really loved this movie and not just because it's got so many characters in it.
We'd seen Thanos being built up over many movies and then we see the Hulk get the shit beaten out of him. The fact that he does NOT want to come back out and shows genuine fear is just a testament to Thanos' strength.

Loki's death was so brutal, too. Thor, having lost everything, has now lost his brother and Thanos did not even show remorse.
I didn't feel like any of the characters were shoe-horned in however I do feel like Cap and Spider-Man basically took a back seat a little bit. My theatre clapped when Cap appeared but not at anyone else either and I still don't even know why.

The cinematography was fantastic. You KNEW that you were travelling through space to different planets with different areas and the visuals, especially on Vormir, just drew me right in. Red Skull appearing was fantastic and it's great to see that plot point brought back. Ross Marquand is welcome to play Red Skull in the future and the way he looked was so dark.

The Black Order were played fantastic, too. Kinda gutted that they were "defeated" and we could have gotten more of a backstory. Another gripe would be that although they tried to "humanise" Thanos with the story of Gamora and the Soul Stone and him wanting to finally rest, I wish we'd gotten more of a maniac in him and seen Death. There's still time with A4 for this too.

The humour was great, too. Usually you get a few cringy jokes and eye-rolls but since the actions started straight away, it was handled pretty damn well. Dialogue was missed over laughter though so will catch it this second time.

The ending broke me, although they haven't officially another Black Panther 2, Spider-Man 2, Doctor Strange 2; we know these characters are the future so it was a bold move to kill these characters off. I think the deaths pre-snap will stay permanent as Feige said that characters stay dead, and I hope they do otherwise that is wasted. The deaths were still such a shock and my theatre was silent until the post-credit scene in sheer shock.

This was probably my favourite Avengers movie and it's really hard to pick a favourite out of this Phase 3 lineup. Going to see this later with my family to see how it holds up. It'll be their first time. Apologies for the long post, probably missed a few points that I really liked but I'm sure other's will bring it up.

My guess is that using it's power damaged it so badly. And no idea, I'm guessing on Titan where the Reality stone is showing it blossoming once more.

Sorry for the triple post. David Cross, Tobias Fünke, appears as a kree (blue makeup) in a scene with the Collector in one of his pod things.

I was loving the ending until Black Panther and Spider-Man fade away cause I’m 99.9% sure they’re getting resurrected so it kinda took weight out of the rest of the post snap deaths for me. Also guardians 3 is still happening lol

My guess is that all of the stones were being used at once when he did the snap and it was too much for the gauntlet to handle

It was basically a homage to the end in the Infinity Gauntlet comic in which Thanos is banished as a farmer. In this movie he just chose to retire and relax after completing his mission. Happy ending for him.

Without Gamora, though. She died too early to come back. As much as her death sucked, I wouldn’t be down with bringing people pre-snap back

Loved this - should've killed off Tony in that scene though. Would've been a fitting end for him

My thoughts exactly. I think everyone that died before the snap is permanent. Guardians 3 can still work without Gamora, so I don’t see that being an issue.

I keep thinking back to the line “no more ressurections this time!” Uhhhhh there’s gonna be at least two in Avengers 4 lol

Still spoiler tagging since it hasn’t been out for a full day

I know that the deaths will get reversed but having to watch Stark cradle Peter as he was begging not to die will have me shaking for a while. Also, Spideys suit was rad as hell.

The energy in my theater was insane and the crowd went absolutely wild the moment we heard the Wakanda music. Normally I’m upset if anyone makes any noise during a movie but hearing people cheering for Black Panther got me hyped.

For some reason they couldn’t handle Peter Dinklage as a giant though, some little shits in the back started laughing and making jokes which was embarrassing.

The post credit scene reminded me of the opening to The Leftovers (shoutout to Carrie Coon)

I think I’m going to see this again in a few hours.

K Im done with spoiler tags. Ill be that guy.

Maybe they arent considered "resurrections" so to speak depending on how they reverse it. Maybe they are in another dimension or something. Look. Obviously what happened at the end isnt going to stick. Fucking over half of them died lol

I think Loki, Heimdall, and Gamora are gone for good. Part of me wished Loki's death moved me more. Maybe I just wasnt prepared for that early on in the movie? Part of me wished he did something sacrificial. He did give up the stone for Thors life, but I kind of wish it was something where he even surprised Thor where Thor couldnt believe he just sacrificed himself after everything hes done.

As far as Gamora. One, just fucking amazing performance. Probably number 2nd or 3rd favorite next to Thor and Thanos. That death also didnt movie me as much as I wished but it still was a great moment and Im still fucking bummed that shes probably done :/

Still cant get over how dark this movie was. Thinking about how Loki died and how Gamora died. Thinking about what happened with Groot and Tom Holland.

Thats brutal. For a series thats partly aimed towards kids, Im extremely impressed a Disney Property had the guts to do a lot of what they did.

Tom Holland is such a good actor that him talking to Tony KILLED me even though he’s coming back. I’d love for Tony to have to sacrifice himself to bring Peter back. It reminded me of the rubble scene in homecoming where I knew he’d make it out but I felt all of it.

I’m about to see this again this morning and will double check. But I’m pretty certain i saw Gamora in the background of Thanos’ end shot.
