i'mma try to jot down my various racing thoughts real quick
my heart was pounding at so many moments here. the audience was clapping at so many character entrances, but i think Cap was the peak. we all saw that moment in the trailer, but it was so much better in the film proper.
sometimes though when a character had a joke/told a quip and everyone in the theater was laughing it became impossible to hear the next lines of dialogue.
i knew they were gonna kill off Loki but god DAMN did they do it serious. didn't think we'd see the life choked out of him like that, fuck
i was more upset that the killed Idris!! they killed Heimdall what the fuck!!!
Peter's final lines, fucking hell that brought me to tears, SO many moments actually did bring me to tears
i have so many things i wanna talk about i'm not even gonna try to put them in one post, lol

 

didn't Natasha say that he and Scott Lang took plea deals and their families were put on house arrest?

 

oh yeah, at the very end of the credits, when it said THANOS WILL RETURN, i exclaimed loudly "YEAH, CAUSE NO ONE ELSE WILL!!"
like half the audience groaned
me: "...sorry, too soon?"

 

Watching Loki get the life choked out of him killed me. It sucks.

 

I would have fucking screamed at you. Stuff like that is so dumb. There was a girl who was talking all throughout the movie a few seats down from me and I politely asked her to be quite multiple times and her father didn't do shit about it.

 

In the aftercredits scene was Fury just trying to summon the Avengers with that device?

 

I straight up spazzed out at Red Skull.

 

Thanos is an insanely well-developed villain with a clear motivation that is not evil in any way. Thanos does not believe he is the bad guy, he doesn't think what he’s doing is evil. It’s why he’s not just a great villain, he’s a great character in general.

going in I expected the Guardians to be untouchable. So I hope Gamora stays dead because that was the biggest surprise for me

 

I don't care what they do in Avengers 4 to undo it or whatever, watching a 16(?) year old Peter Parker crying, begging for his life in Tony Stark's arms will forever stick with me

 

bruh, it was the end of the movie. the lights were on.

and also, i think like only half the people in the theater recognized/remembered Red Skull. i leaned forward in my seat and was actually so surprised they brought him back. do y'all think that was Hugo Weaving??

 

It was Ross Marquand from The Walking Dead

 

yeah, i just looked it up. i remember Hugo saying he didn't like the experience of playing the character.

 

This is certainly near the top of MCU films for me, if not #1 (want to watch it a few more times before I fully decide). The tone was perfect, character dynamics were fantastic, Thanos was such an incredible villain with a real motivation and compelling history (seemingly a foreign concept for 90% of superhero movies).

Thor showing up in Wakanda and Cap saving Vision and Wanda both got everyone in the theater applauding, and I don't think I heard a single noise in the theater after the snap until the credits started. They just absolutely knocked this one out of the park.

 

This was so damn good, now I’m excited to see how Ant-Man and Captain Marvel is going to tie into the next one.

 

I’m guessing Ant-Man and the Wasp is taking place at some point during the two years between Civil War and this. Probably won’t tie in at all.

 

It was the guy who plays Aaron in The Walking Dead. Ross Marquand, I think.

 

He’s supposed to be in the next Avengers tho

 

I was hoping Nick Fury would’ve finished that motherfucker.

I don't think it is as predictable as you are making it out to be. In Dr Strange, it is said that abusing the time stone can cause time loops and paradoxes, so I don't think the fix here is to just use time to reverse everything.

concerning the Russo's putting an Arrested Development easter egg in the film like the Staircar was in Civil War..... where was this one?? i didn't spot it...

i was only reminded when in the credits it mentioned a character courtesy of Arrested Development (or something like that)
