Can I be honest for a sec? Like I’m happy that I’m a dad now and I look forward to what comes with it but goddamn, I am so afraid of failing my daughter. Like I’m looking into going to counseling for my alcoholism and anger issues/depression because I don’t want my daughter to see me at my lowest points and I want to be a stable parent for her but I’m so afraid that I going fail and that hurts. I don’t want her to be this broken person like I am.

 

i cannot stop listening to Anna Tivel's record Small Believer. It's one of my favorite folk records I've heard in a long time.

 

that's a good step if you think you need it. either way I think you'll be a very positive influence in your daughter's life based off what I know of you, you're a good person man. I think depression can make us underestimate our potential for loving others since it's been hard to love our selves.

 

This is a pretty typical feeling for us parents constantly tbh. Don't feel bad for feeling like this. Do what you can and need to to make yourself better if you know of any, the rest you just kinda have to do our best to not let it show.

I just hear my internal voice of my own reading the posts. And I’ve talked to @dadbolt on the phone so I should hear his. I’ve also heard @ChaseTx and @Henry and @dylan all on Snapchat (or eating the McTrump challenge).

Pretty boring/lame in that regard.
