He can't beat it with speed but he can still jump over dudes. Dak's ball placement on 50-50 balls is way too conservative. Bryant didnt get to do what hes still good at in Dallas now that hes lost a step.

 

That was exactly the problem. Dak is good, but Dez losing a step requires an extremely accurate quarterback and Dak just isn't there yet. Can't blame the man, but it is what it is.

 

Ill say this though Dez Bryant has already peaked and that peak wasn't as high as his hype coming out of college

I would disagree with that. At his peak, he was the best redzone threat in the league, set multiple Cowboys receiving records, and was known as a top five receiver.

 

Never topped 1400 yards though and has only had three 1k seasons. The red zone numbers are there but the actual volume isnt compared to Calvin, Julio, Brown, etc. Even Demaryius Thomas had a better career statistically (and was also a major red zone threat.)

 

1,400 is an odd choice to make a point about, but regardless, from 2012-2014 he was a top five receiver and that's nothing to sneeze at.

 

Eh. Better corners got the edge a lot of the time. It's the inconsistency - he had more down games than I expected him to have. During that time period (2012-2014) he'd have 3 TD games or something and you'd think he could dominate anyone. The big games would inflate your perception of his skills, but then he'd underwhelm when it mattered.

Shit, I don't even "think of" AJ Green as a better receiver than Dez but Green had better numbers overall too.
