I mean the new AF is okay....but I haven’t went back to it since my first listen. Something about it just didn’t hook me. The production maybe? Not sure.

@Colin Your Enthusiasm recommended the band Trade Wind to me about a week back. I was unfamiliar with them and I checked them out. They've only released an EP and full-length of new material (about an hour in total) and I'd also recommend checking them out! I can definitely hear some strong Thrice influences.

 

Yeah need more Trade Wind love on here. One band that fits in nicely with them that I'd say if you like Trade Wind you will dig is Sights and Sounds. Both bands are side project bands but I actually enjoy them both more than their main projects. Genre for both bands is a blend of alternative rock and post-hardcore.

 

And I should also mention that Trade Wind is a supergroup featuring members of Structures, Stray from the Path, and Stick to Your Guns

 

While we're on the topic of good bands blending alt rock and post-hxc: Arcane Roots and Black Peaks deserve to be mentioned. Hope some of you check them out.

 

Those two bands I would add progressive rock to the mix too tho.

Black Peaks have a new album coming out this year. This is their new single: Can't Sleep - Single by Black Peaks

Arcane Roots came out with a new album last year called Melancholia Hymns.

@Nate_Johnson i really recommend LP by AF if you haven't heard it yet. And actually their Audiotree live session as well @JediMasterKevo182 promised me he would check it out so this is my reminder to you KEVO.

I like it. It didn’t break my top 10 albums of the year list but it sits at a comfortable 11-12 spot. I’ve returned to it a couple times
