You're definitely not wrong,
But imagine those excuses coming from the team who beat the Cavs minus Irving and Love last season lol

 

Doesn't a flagrant 2 in the playoffs come with an automatic suspension? I'm not sure I understand this situation beyond the fact the NBA wants to give stars on good teams the free reign.

 

During the game it would result in an ejection, but if it's upgraded after the fact there's no automatic suspension

 

The Draymond situation reminds me a lot of this situation in game six of the griz vs thunder a couple years ago.

Grizzlies' Randolph suspended for Game 7

It is different bc it was a shot to the head, but I remember being so pissed off bc I knew they had no chance against the thunder in game seven without Randolph. I remember thinking there was no way they would suspend him for game seven bc it would clearly effect their chances in game seven, but they did it anyway.

 

I am pretty sure a flagrant 2 is an ejection and 1 game suspension in the playoffs. Pretty sure that was JR Smith last year.

 

Wikipedia says: "Referees have discretion in determining which level to call, but the primary distinction is that a Flagrant 2 results in the immediate ejection of the offender. A player who receives two Flagrant 1 fouls in a single game is also ejected upon the second foul."

and from NBA.com

"Flagrant "1" = 1 point

Flagrant "2" = 2 points

A player will receive the points set forth above for each flagrant foul committed during the Playoffs. If the player's Playoff total exceeds 3 points, he will receive an automatic suspension following the game in which his point total exceeds 3 points"

 

I am formally issuing an asterisk to Golden State if they advance beyond this round. Suck it, Bay Area.

 

But that was JR Smith.

This is a guy that is dirtier than JR but for some reason gets away with everything. Important distinction imo

Kyrie looks awful again on both ends.

 

Really strange. He was lights out for 10 games. Now he can't get anything going.

 

Not a good start. Kyrie is afraid of anything at the rim, and his shot is off. No idea what Love is doing.
