So tell me something awesome Supporter

There were about 30 pages of people reconciling their feelings about Brand New when the Lacey news broke, I think it's fair for people to do the same here about their own personal relationship with Kanye's music

It might come across as selfish, because in the grand scheme of it all it is. But I think it's fair to just kinda share where you stand on your own personal line (especially within the boundary of the thread about the specific album), I feel like we do it a lot

    hey you lil piss baby

I know you like discussing music with other people, that’s generally why we are all here. I just find it odd to flaunt the fact that you are openly excited about something if it makes others very uncomfortable. I’m not trying to condemn you or anything, I just wanted to understand the root of why you find that necessary and point out why it may not be the healthiest decision with regards to how others feel. The wording in your post did come off quite selfish though.

This is really all I was trying to do. In my eyes this isn’t bad enough to stop supporting like the Lacey stuff was, but who knows what his future actions will be. Kind of just trying to think out loud maybe? It was probably unnecessary for me to post that in the first place

    why

he’s not saying no matter what I’ve got Kanye’s back

@Fucking Dustin got across what I was trying to do pretty well, I really am not trying to influence anyone else’s decisions

That's not what he said and I think you know that, exaggerating what he said isn't exactly necessary here.

This isn't exactly a 1 to 1 comparison, but I find it interesting how people can condemn so much stuff (like Kanye) yet still sit around posting on their iPhones that were made via slave labor.

Always do the right thing. Supporter

Everyone is working out how they feel and seems open to the difficulty of the situation and sensitive to the seriousness of Kanye’s actions. We don’t all need to immediately be hardlined and have a universal stance on all this. It’s a moment for talking through and listening, not being accusatory or hostile.

iPhones and clothes are almost essential needs to day to day life in 2018. Kanye West’s music isn’t.

An iPhone is not an essential need. And there is plenty of fair trade clothing.

    Keep on moving. Busy street.

Well at least if he's going to use his music to explain his views it won't be hard for me to refrain from listening to it.

except for how much is built around having basic access to a smart phone and internet, but sure go off

I mean there are plenty of rabbit holes like this that we could go down, but what do they really contribute to a discussion like this?

I said almost essential. We all know there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism. We also know there are significant personal gains to be made and advantages to be had if one has an iphone vs if one relies on going to the library for internet access. It’s just not a very helpful comparison to draw in the first place.

That’s a good point, if this shit makes it onto the album I have no idea how I’ll handle that. Kill Jill by Big Boi is a super dope song but then he randomly throws in that weird Cosby line

I was so happy hearing Hatsune Miku in popular music and that line hurt

Look, I get it. I understand that there's only so much you can do, and you have to pick and choose what's important to you/what's actually reasonable/viable. BUT you can't just pretend like you're not helping perpetuate slave labor by participating in that system. There are other options.
