Everyone in the thread, and the music review website narrative seems to be that GFC is a return to form which I’m like uhhh it sounds exactly like PC but only a few tracks are as good.

 

Love Vasu but definitely think they’d sound great with a singer too

 

I said I would love their sound with a singer, not disrespect the integrity of their creative choices or whatever

Incidentally I've had my finger hovering over the delete button on them for a while now. If they were instrumental, they'd be safe.

 

I actually really enjoy Periphery's vocals.

 

I can understand this more and more. I'm not all the way there yet, but live shows of any kind are not as fun as they used to be.

 

I saw Periphery play an instrumental set forever and a day ago (pretty sure it was the Darkest Hour anniversary tour with Revocation back in 2010 - Spencer was sick), and they kicked ass during it...not as into that type of sound now, but it was fun to 22 year old me. *shrug*

 

I mean I love the dude's voice in itself, but I don't know something weird happened in my brain a few years back and now it takes a lot for non-instrumental bands to click with me.

Actually that's not even true - that only applies to clean vocals. If Periphery dropped the cleans, I'd be fully on board.

What the fuck happened to me.

 

Y’all are wild. I’ll give you LP1, but LP2 and LP3 his vocals are perfect for that band, dude absolutely crushes it.

Even when I was big into deathcore/metalcore, Bring Me the Horizon was still terrible.

 

SS is an especially bad album that has not aged well.

Overall that’s a really good unpopular opinion re: BMtH vs UO albums, because I can’t imagine too many would agree with it at all.

 

SS has a tremendous opening 2 tracks and then drops off pretty hard after that. It's alright.

 

I've only heard Sandpit Turtle.

And only listened to it because I was intrigued by a song being named after something concerning Metal Gear Solid. Only really listen to it while at the gym every once and awhile though.

 

Bring Me the Horizon are not good.

their albums are all ok/p decent imo except TIAH which I love and SS is half of a fun listen for me
