Was there a misconception about the line?

 

A lot of people think it’s “I walked alone to get the feeling right”

 

Yep, this was me for years

 

Now I can’t unhear it

 

I honestly just learned last summer that the line wasn't "I walked alone."

 

I thought it was “I walked alone” when I was younger too.

 

Did none of you monsters read liner notes? Haha

 

How would walking alone get the feeling right

 

My teenage self picked up Enema on the day it came out because I saw the WMAA video on MTV and it blew my mind. I got the CD, and listened to it non stop while reading along with the lyrics, so I've known the correct lyrics for it since then.

 

Lol yeah had no idea people misheard that as "walk alone"

That's nothing compared to what I used to think the chorus of Online Songs was. Literally just thought it was indiscernible gibberish for the longest time. I never really sat down and listened to the album. So when I finally read the lyrics with it, I was blown away.

Ah, yes. Before Mark and Feldmann ruined the band!

 

There's a funny bit in one of the 2000ish bootlegs shows that are online between Mark and Tom about the "I wore cologne" line. Right after they play WMAA, Tom stops and says something like "wait what's that line?" and Mark repeats it and Tom says "I thought it was I walked alone" and Mark responds by saying "We've been playing this song for over a year and you didn't even know the lyrics?". I forget what show it was but it was pretty good. Man I miss the old days.

 

Dudeeee, I would LOVE a segment where Mark and Tom have to guess the other person's lyrics in their songs. Between Tom being a forgetful person and Mark not understanding the Tom-isms, that would be epic.

 

Travis just put up a story on IG in the studio that said "New Blink 182 song" with no audio.

 

Gasp

 

Mark also posted on his IG story and said “New blink-182 songs Day 1”. That makes me think it’s for a new album hopefully.

 

Weird because it seems like Matt and Dan are writing as well. Doing both at once doesn't seem like the best idea...
