Man I really enjoyed that Hedley album. Such a smooth voice and such a timeless sound. Weird Thought Thinker is an early favorite.

Thank you for always keeping me up to date on what I need to be listening to. Even if I'm still horrible at doing so.

I don’t think I’ve ever been more surprised to see an album reviewed by pitchfork, even better that it was all positive.

Agree the closer is such classic Prine, probably my favorite also.

So I'm loving this new Dierks track. This is shaping up to be his best record in years.

Where are you landing on these songs? I know you didn't like the first single...

This album is pretty good, but it's not really pulling me back right now. There's just not much there, lyrically, which is a pretty big contrast to his last record. The lyrics were what really made that album for me.

Yeah I hated the first song. I’ve liked the next two for the most part after a couple listens but haven’t really dug too much into the lyrics yet.

I remember a few years ago thinking he had potential to be the next Jason Isbell but I’m not as sold on that anymore. I still think he is extremely talented, but I should probably keep reminding myself he is only like 25 and his best may still be ahead.

I'm still holding out for John Fullbright as my 'next Jason Isbell.'

Yeah he’s probably closer. Songs is probably in my top 10 for the decade. I hope we finally get another album this year.

Yeah, I got the same "next Isbell" comparison, particularly with "Heaven Sent" from the last record. This one feels more like he's just having a lot of fun, which is cool, but it lacks the depth of his previous stuff.

Has there been any whisper of a new record from him? I'm getting pretty antsy for that.

He did produce the new American Aquarium album, which 1) also features John Moreland, and 2) is very good.

Ive heard nothing of a new record, but he did play 2 new songs last time I saw him which was almost 2 years ago now so surely by now he has enough material.

I didn’t know he produced the new American Aquarium. Isbell produced one of their albums several years back and then right after that released Southeastern, so maybe he really is the next Isbell and is about to release his big break through album ;)

He’s definitely got some similarities with Noah. Have you heard his older records?

    That’s what I’m here for!

Only a couple songs in but that's good to hear. I like Hard Settle quite a bit but if this tops that I'm all for it.

If he hadn't cut the two best songs he's ever written from Hard Settle, I might feel differently. I think this one is more consistently stellar though.
