Damn I cannot stop listening to SGL

 

It’s also refreshing and incredible to hear romantic, thoughtful, pop songs that are representing different sexualities that aren’t speaking on your stereotypical cis straight relationship. Something you don’t necessarily get a lot of from this genre. That alone gives the lyrics its own measure of depth.

Edit: I’ve thought about this a lot in regards to the album. The fact that KC is so open, confident, and telling about her relationship is so admirable and exemplary. It’s given me confidence in my own writing and I haven’t even heard the whole album yet. I can’t imagine what it’s doing for other people in that regard. Thankful this album exists.

 

They played a new song on Parahoy. I didn't catch the name of it, but it was another bop y'all. Get ready.

 

Every song on this record is a bop. It’s insane.

They probably played Saved if I had to guess.

 

I would’ve assumed something like MJ! Seems more ‘bop’ to me. Or Know Me.

AZ and Yours have just now fully clicked with me. Thank god- I really want to love Saved.

Also, I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t like the album cover? Would rather have had it be the art that was released as the single art for SGL.

 

I don’t dislike the artwork but I agree that the single art for SGL would be perfect.

 

The new song they played on Parahoy was one of the ones Jason typed out the lyrics to up there- the "It's a sad dream, it's a sad song to remind me" one.

 

It's called I Can't Help Myself! Third song on the album.

I hope the vinyl comes with a lyric booklet or something. Some of the lyrics in a few songs are kind of hard to distinguish with the vocal effects being used. Particularly in MJ.

Fantastic! And I'm massively pleased it's gatefold. Assuming there'll be some cool photos and whatnot in there! So hyped to have it in my hands after all this time.

 

Long time lurker, but recently heard some rumblings that they may be doing a colored variant too. Anyone else hear similarly?

 

I haven't heard anything, but I wouldn't be surprised to see some new variants pop up either.

 

Probably an urban outfitters or indie exclusive I imagine

 

Was really hoping the original pre-order would have been some cool color variant. I don’t like the idea of buying the same album twice because a cooler looking one wasn’t available to me for jumping on the pre-order, but if another variant is released at some point I’ll be pretty damn tempted to just say fuck it and shell out the extra cash — because clearly this rollout was not ideal for them either.

 

I only see that when I go to the UK store but it doesn’t show the same from the U.S. store? I hope it’s the same because I want my gatefold.

 

Can't imagine they'd make that a UK exclusive, if anything it'd be the other way round haha! The UK site doesn't have any of the preorder deals/merch that the US does either!

 

Yeah, when I saw this wasn't coloured, I immediately assumed we'd see one later on through another retailer. As irritating as it is, I figure they probably wanted to push for standard black variants first, so that they could finally get preorders up and cut the wait til release. Maybe coloured copies would've meant a delayed release. And who knows, there might be a tour variant?
