What would your choices be?

 

I’d be right in line with the leaders at this point. The Changing of Times (the song) is one of my favorites on the album but I’m not sure that I’d vote for it over When The Sun Sleeps. I’m glad you saved it from a shutout though!

All in all, this isn’t a bad album, but it’s not the Underoath that pretty much everyone came to know and love. For me personally, this was my first exposure to the band (back in 2002) and it does hold a special place for me for that reason alone.

It’s probably good we didn’t start with anything before this album though!

 

I think I heard TOCS first but then returned to this and their earlier EPs and enjoyed it at the time. Now I don’t listen to as much really heavy music, particularly this kind of vibe, so it’s more of a chore but there are some good bits and it is nice to listen to again after so long.

 

Angel Below - That synth line still gets my vote in this toss up. Guitars in Short Of Daybreak are nice

Alone in December - Pretty easy choice

A Message For Adrienne - Never Meant To Break Your Heart is one of my favorites on the album, but not better than Adrienne in my eyes.

The Changing Of Times - A tough matchup for the title track so I thought I’d show it some love.

 

One thing I think is pretty cool is that I know what I would consider my favorites to win each album in this bracket, but there are so many good songs and fan favorites it doesn’t feel like any of them would be guaranteed.

Oh fuck, should have joined this sooner. TCOT was one of my high school albums.

Alone In December - Favourite song on the record. I don't how many times I listened to it as a fourteen year old but it was A LOT. I still love the lyric:

If this is love then fairytales never came true,
Judies go black in full bloom
And I died in the womb

When The Sun Sleeps - AND WHEN SHE WAAAAAAAAAAKES!!!

 

I was gonna wait until TOCS, but I may listen to the last two of TCOT and vote. I’ve only ever heard TSSS.
