Unless that was newly announced, I don't think so. They didn't skip Memorial Day last year either from what I remember.

I do remember in the trailer there's a guy riding a horse and swinging a flaming ball of something and connecting with something that definitely looked like a wight. So it appears whoever that is will be saving the day. I hope it's Benjen

This is wonderful news for two reasons.

    1) We get a new episode sooner than I originally thought.
    2) I get to tell my friend he was WRONG. Oh sweet simple joy.

makes sense. Though I'd argue it didn't actually "alter the past". Nothing actually changed in the present as the result of Bran's actions.

I really hope they keep the timeline stuff to bootstrap paradoxes rather than actual multiple timelines/altering the past.

I haven't seen the preview yet, but someone with apparent magic shows up? I mean, unless they introduce someone that no one is talking about, who else could it be besides Benjen/Coldhands?

nothing was going to change in the present, what was in the past had already occurred. that's why hodor was already fixated on 'hold the door' well before the actual event took place.

I think that's all pure theory right now, unless there was a spoiler about it I missed. The trailer I meant was the trailer for the entire season. The preview for next week doesn't give away much about Bran's story I don't think, it all flashed by very very quickly.

right. You had just mentioned "altering the past" but that wasn't really what happened. The past was already in the same state, we just got to see how it got there.

Just watched the second season 6 trailer and holy hell do they give away a lot. There are scenes from every assumed scenario to play out including a dragon flying over Dany as she's travelling.

The battle over Winterfell actually happens, so we'll see how that plays out.

I saw that dude on the horse with what looked like a torch, nothing special there.

No offense, but doesn't looking into all of this kind of ruin the experience?

FYI - I did not read the rest of your post after realizing what it for what it is...

Looking into what? It was a trailer released by HBO for the season...talking about that is hardly a spoiler.

Watching it again when you have already seen a handful of episodes puts things into perspective when you see things in context.

I don't care about spoiling things for myself. I've always said that the journey to the ending is far more interesting than the ending it self and this applies to multiple things.

I can't wait to watch the faith militant get destroyed next week. Revisiting the trailer shows Strong ripping a faith follower off the ground by his face. As well as Tormund and the rest of the wildlings in action against Ramsey, meaning no more skipping huge battles.

The exclusive inside the episode videos suggest that was the actor that plays Hodor's finale scene so no wight Hodor.

    You've really always said that?

  17. drstrong

    I'm Back.

Yes. I have more important things to worry about besides spoilers. I think it's just a normal feeling to want to know what happens in the end of something, some people will try to find out and others enjoy the ride as it happens. I just prefer to know things so i'm not wondering what happens next on a weekly basis.

That said, I don't spoil everything for myself, but most things I do.

I can't get to the theater on opening day, or weekend, at all, and I typically don't watch things as they air.

I didn't bear Ed say "yet". I just heard "I'm not the Lord Commander."

I did hear him say, Yeah, close the bloody door

Hmm....yeah it definitely could have been "yeah" instead of "yet". It was a funny scene either way though haha

Strange of you to say because it seems like you're enjoying just that: theorizing on what will actually happen next and wondering if things will play out in certain ways. Isn't that why you come into threads like this?

  21. drstrong

    I'm Back.

Well there isn't anything to spoil here, nothing left I mean. I've seen the productions photos of Jon in his Stark gear a while back, and I'm not tagging it anymore because it aired last night.

If there are no spoilers to be had, obviously I'm going to keep watching things that I'm interested in, and have fun watching week to week.

So basically I'll look for spoilers but if I can't find them, I'll still watch.

Just seems like your missing the point of the production, or the art of the whole thing in general, if all you're constantly doing is searching for and immediately consuming the next plot point and nothing else.

Losing site of the forest because all you focus on is the trees.

Or because I simply don't look at most TV/movies other than their face value. I'm not going to praise a film maker or cinematographer for anything on screen. To me, the creative/artistic process truly exists in the writing, everything else just stems from that.
