Wow. The National really comes out of no-where when reading your list from the top down. Haha.

I'll never understand that hype for it. It's that weird response in art and music where if the artist takes a different direction or steps away from the norm, it is automatically lauded, regardless of the quality of the output.

I never said it was. Sticks and Stones is a very good pop punk album.

Just for future reference, it's very petty to criticize someone with whom you disagree by belittling them for liking other things that are completely unrelated to the original statement.

It's a useless endeavor considering how interests can change as rapidly as month to month.

And half that record doesn't hold up.... at all.

Untitled blew my mind when I was 15 and continues to do so at 27. For a lot of us it could've been timing and where we were musically at the time of its release.

    Correct on both.

Not sure why S&S was mentioned really....

I don't know. Do we want an acoustic WDNTW? I don't wanna hear Tom's current voice over acoustic guitars.
That's what I didn't like about Yellowcard's Ocean Avenue acoustic. Ryan's voice just doesn't sound like that anymore. And neither does Tom's. :eh:

Yeah it blows my mind and is one of my favorite albums of all time but I got into it when I was 14 and I don't think I'd have the same reaction if I first heard it today.

I was 16 or 17...I was so upset with where Tom took blink that I didn't listen to the band for a very long time.

Which half, if you don't mind me asking? I'm always interested in hearing everyone's thoughts because it certainly was a polarizing album.

Let's see...songs I still think are solid: Feeling This, Obvious, Violence, Stockholm Syndrome, Easy Target. The rest for me is varying levels of meh.

Pretty much the same tracks I can stand. I think I like Asthenia too. I really couldn't get into I Miss You, it amazes me that it's basically the band's second most popular single.

I always thought I should like Asthenia more than I do, if that makes any sense. I liked I Miss You for a time, but I kind of agree that it's weird that song got huge. I've always though Down and GO were blah songs.

I miss you is one of the only songs by blink that I dislike, period. The video and song were both cringe worthy in my opinion.

    Shut Up

I agree with everything here. I enjoy Asthenia some as well, but find Tom's voice incredibly grating on that track. Not Now is excellent, as well.

ah ok missed that, thank you!

I would not put it above Dude Ranch or Enema. That is all lol.

Said I'm okay, but I know how to lie.

I really hate the interludes on S/T. "The Fallen Interlude", I mean... wtf seriously?
TOYPAJ and Enema are so much better than S/T. And Green Day sucks. And no way New Found Glory is better than blink in any consideration. Just wanted to leave this here. :crylaugh:

Someone brought it up, so I gave an opinion on the context of the discussion that was going on. Doesn't make it ok for you to mock me, as the post of mine that you originally quoted said nothing about Sticks and Stones.

I'm glad we've had the definitive opinion on Green Day bestowed upon us. We can stop discussing them now.

Of course Tom wouldn't have something to actually release today.

If Zeke was mocking you originally, then you're definitely mocking here.

(I don't think there's anything wrong with any of the comments involved, for the record.)

Anyway, if we're ranking bands, I like blink much better than Green Day. Never got into much other than American Idiot, honestly. I enjoy their other stuff, I've just never listened to it all that much.

And if anyone's curious about my top ten for some reason:
    1. The Corrs
    2. Jimmy Eat World
    3. Olivia Broadfield
    4. Lights
    5. The Naked & Famous
    6. Nightwish
    7. Chvrches
    8. Loreena McKennitt
    9. Silverstein
    10. Annalisa

HM: Fall Out Boy, Brand New, The Gaslight Anthem, Carly Rae Jepsen, Al Lewis, blink-182, Capital Lights.
