Mark is on the latest episode of Jonah Raydio. Solid entertainment.

The picture they have up on Their Spotify page, as a background for Artists Pick gives me heavy NFG Makes Me Sick vibes, for a second I almost thought it was a potential poster for a blink/NFG show/tour

Neighborhoods is a bad, bad album. Take off your fanboy glasses please. HOWEVER! After Midnight is top tier 2000s blink.

It's been a while since I heard it but I genuinely loved the first three AVA albums. Maybe I'll revisit them sometime soon

I'll still take Neighborhoods over California any day. It wins that battle with just After Midnight and Even If She Falls.

Don't even remember last time I listened to Neighborhoods all the way through. Don't remember the last time I listened to DED period lol

    Die rad.

California over Neighborhoods for me. That says a lot too since Im a Tom fan. But Ghost on the Dance Floor and Love Is Dangerous are fantastic songs. For me, California is just more fun (begining of the album more so.). Los Angeles is my fav blink song since anything post Enema. For some reason I just love that vibe.

I have a tough time listening to any Neighborhoods songs except After Midnight (only because it's a top 10 blink song for me). It just sucks to hear that Tom didn't really care about the album so it kind of leaves a bad feeling for me to listen to that album fully. And the fact that to me the album hasn't aged well and I actually rank it just above Buddha in terms of album rankings. Don't get me wrong there are good songs on it but as a whole it's a weak effort that could have been made into a very good album with a producer and getting the guys to spend a few extra weeks in the studio together.

To be honest, I’ve never totally believed Travis’ statement that Tom didn’t care about that album, as neighborhoods is so Tom heavy, he basically carried that album which always surprised me since I thought Mark would have more songs under his belt (it had been 5 years since mark released an album).

Also, personal opinion, but if i were to listen to instrumental versions of both albums (without having heard them before), I feel like i would be able to tell that Neighborshoods is blink, but california could be a number of pop punk bands.

I think Mark just lacks the speed to write consistently where Tom can churn out songs pretty quick. Problem is the songs Tom churns out are either bad or ripping off his older songs haha

  13. My assumption has always been that Tom wanted more of the spotlight on that record

if he wanted more spotlight i’m sure he would have cared more

Neighborhoods = Cali for me. Both and good and bad in different ways. Both have their highs and lows. Both came at such distinctive points in their careers and in my life. One was the anticipated reunion and the other was the anticipated outcome of losing/replacing a founding member.

Can we just agree that Dude Ranch through untitled are the only blink really worth listening to?

    Thanks.

Amend it to “most of Dude Ranch” and I’d allow it even though I think California is is fine. Eh, maybe throw in Cynical? Then sure.

Golden era blink ended after untitled for me. There’s songs here and there after that I really enjoy, just not everything like I used to. I think it’s more of it being a “time and a place” thing. I hold them in higher regard based on nostalgia.
