This is shreddit's album of the week. CHRISTIAN THRASH! It's actually super good and riff-tastic.

Pretty good day for death metal releases tomorrow. We got Scorched and Skeletal Remains. And Breaking Benjamin too, obviously.

 

Skeletal Remains is good. I caught the drip in my bucket for my four-and-a-half hour drive to Iowa today and loved the grooviness and the riffs. Dear god, the riffs were sexy.

I've also been listening to a fair amount of Zhrine and Misþyrming as inspired by my trip to Iceland over the last week or so.

Edit: Saw the Scorched album is a reissue of their old demos. Haven't listened to the 2017 demo, but the 2015 S/T demo was baller. Y'all need to definitely check that bad boy out.

 

Zhrine is so good. The Icelandic scene is insane: Wormlust, Svartidauði, Sinmara, Mannveira, Carpe Noctem...what's in the water up there?

This album by Møl came out today and is pretty damn great, FFO of Deafheaven, Wolves In The Throne Room sort of stuff. They're a Danish band and this is their debut out on Holy Roar Records (who I have to say have been killing it with releases recently).

 

New Carpathian Forest single out today! First new music from them in a looooong while.

I think I've posted about this before, but my friend does vocals for this tech death band from New Orleans, and they officially put out their debut EP this week.

It's on Apple Music, Spotify, etc. as well.

Due to a strange series of events, I'm about to see Oceano and Carnifex.

 

To the surprise of no one I'm sure, I am jealous.

 

You felt right. This is sick. Those drums are fucking nuts.

 

I remember when I got into oceana and inevitably went through the oceano mix up at some point but never listened to oceano. Birtheater by oceana still some solid metalcore though

 

Musically great, lyrically kinda iffy
