exactly. Isn't there a video of what tekashi did? and xxx has actual court dates for fucking kidnapping and beating a pregnant woman. there's really no gray line here. It doesn't take someone involved in accountability politics to understand how improbable it is that either guy is innocent, and you would think you'd have to be a special kind of twisted to support people guilty of crimes so heinous.

 

In high school I got a waiver from taking either health class or gym because I was in the marching band. I was obviously psyched at the time because gym made me self conscious, but looking back, it’s so fucked

 

A lot of their fans either defend it or just don’t give a fuck. We have a long way to go.

My sister listens to xxxtentacion and stuff and I've tried talking to her. It always comes back to sacrifices and people often don't want to sacrifice their enjoyment of something. When I bring it up my sister complains that I try to be a downer and ruin everything and I think that's a common thought process. People wanna enjoy stuff and don't wanna be inconvenienced. Bums me out.

Also my sister uses my spotify account and I'm like gross don't want that on my streams

 

I know that, I just don't get the gray area. It's not even about excommunicating them from the scene (or in their case, I guess the mainstream). I just can't wrap my head around people being comfortable publicly supporting these artists, knowing what they've done.

 

I had the same thing in middle school. I didn’t take 8th grade health because I was in jazz band. I did take health in high school when it was required but I really should have been required to take both.

 

It’s pretty mind blowing how many people just don’t give a shit. They can’t be bothered with it despite being aware of it.

 

Some people do say like well I'll keep listening because xyz reason but end up not even listening because subconsciously they just can't do it. Like when the Jesse Lacey stuff came out my brother said to me wow that sucks but I'll probably still listen, I think I said the same thing too, but I know for a fact he hasn't listened since then intentionally or not and outside of a couple of failed attempts neither have I, so I think deep down there are people who will give up their enjoyment of things maybe without realizing they're doing so. But it'd be nice if people were more cognizant of it and able to make a definitive choice to cut these abusers out of rotation

 

it's only a matter of time until the US tour goes away.

Really a shame because Old Gray was an extremely important band for me since 2011. awful that their legacy had to go down in flames so close to their end.

I thought about that/wasn't sure if it was appropriate to ask yet. I believe these bands have members living across the country, so it would be a shame if they had all this preparations for a reunion only to have something out of their control totally ruin it. I hope they still tour- don't think I'd be able to attend, but they're two bands that were really important for a particular moment in time, so I hope they're both able to have the sendoff they deserve.

 

I bet the other reunions will happen, at the very least a Cerce gig in Mass

 

really good record, encourage everyone to check it out and support/donate. funny enough that I discovered them because I follow cam on Spotify, and saw he was listening, so I checked it out.

 

zack from cerce is in that band, and there's a bunch of other connections to great bands

they're all so nice and one of the best live bands i've seen play DIY spaces

 

oh that's what zack is doing? i was super into lovechild too, and I think he was in burglary years which is even cooler.

"prenzlauerberg" is one of my favourite songs in a while.

that's a shame. they played montreal fairly frequently, and I was hoping they would get active again sometime in the future, but I suppose none of that anymore.
