I always knew God of War would be great but damn these reviews somehow have me even more excited.

Does this God Of War have like towns, a quest system and a dialogue system and stuff, like in Witcher or Skyrim or whatever?

No. I don't know if you've played a GoW game before but they're very linear. This one a bit less so, but it's still far from any ARPG.

I haven't played them properly but I know how they work. I asked about this one because people keep throwing around open world and RPG elements on Twitter so I was wondering if that's what they meant. Thanks for the clarification.

There's a bit more exporation in this one, but it's far from open world

I've never played a GOW game up until recently. I picked up the first one remastered for PS4. Played for like 30 mins and was done with it.

Now I'm seeing these reviewed for the new one. Might have to go back to it lol

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

Probably like the open world section in Uncharted 4

The first three God of War games are still up there with my favourites of all time. If this new one can hit that level for me it'll probably be my second favourite game of this gen after Bloodborne.

Okay then it's probably not for me. Thanks guys. The whole no-cuts camera thing sounds amazing though.

I love the God of War series, but I haven't played the first two in year and imagine them being quite dated now. This one looks a lot more this gen.

I'm trying to preorder on Amazon but it's showing as unavailable for some reason. Going to have to find somewhere else to do it tonight.

I've played the first 3 God of War games is Bloodborne/Dark Souls similar in any way? I know the latter seems to be more difficult and more boss heavy but from what little I know about DS/BB I can see similarities in gameplay

I couldn't beat the first enemy in bloodborne, so you should probably avoid.

  21. Dark Souls is nothing like the God of War trilogy, in my opinion. Bloodborne is maybe closer, but I still wouldn’t compare them. Those games are way more methodical, slow, and punishing. Where GOW wants to make you feel incredibly powerful, the Souls games and Bloodborne want to make you feel as small and weak as possible so that when you beat these insanely hard bosses, you feel like you climbed a mountain to get there.

Nah they're very different. God of War makes you feel powerful, soulsborne make the average enemy seem powerful.

  24. I got like two chapters into Remember Me a month ago and just sort of got burnt out on games in general. I've been playing Hearthstone a bit to accumulate some gold for today's expansion release, and I got back into Overwatch this week for the event (relaxed PvE OW is best OW--not as many assholes or people doing stupid shit). I feel like I might be ready to pick back up where I left off on The Witcher 3, though.

Funny story: my first attempt at getting into the band, I listened to Daughter's Music from Before the Storm without knowing it was, um, music from Before the Storm. So glad I went on to their actual albums, they are amazing. As is the soundtrack, of course, but it was kind of a weird introduction to the band's sound haha. I was sort of put off when I found out Ashly Burch was replaced, but now I'm excited again to play Before the Storm.

edit: now that I think about it, I still haven't finished FFXIII, either. I'm starting to think I have too many games "in progress."
