Looks like the set was cut down to 15 songs from 19 on the Canada tour. Not too bummed I'm skipping this one.

 

didn't know where to post this, but I think I read something the other day that said Further Seems Forever had a new EP coming out?

 

No, it’s a side project release.

 

Oh I read that as in addition to be new EP, I also have a side project.

Such a great song

 

Man the bridge in "Be Alright" gets stuck in my head all the time. So good.

 

There are some good songs on that record.

 

Yeah I love this record. Open My Eyes, We Fight, Crooked Shadows, About Us... All so good. Just What to Say is probably my favourite still, but those all snuck up on me

 

Love this album.

 

Haven't listened since the week of release. Didn't grab me, and he sounds straight up bad at times. That Crooked Shadows chorus... woof.

Edit- Just to add something positive to my post, I do think We Fight is classic sounding Dashboard.

 

Heart Beat Here could have been on any album and been at home. I love that it’s acoustic, but I could imagine an electric version sound big version.

 

There were some great moments on this album, but too much other good music came out this year that it kinda got lost in the shuffle.
I do think Heart Beat Here and We Fight are top DC songs.

 

Brian Fallon’s record is awesome and will probably end up being my favourite this year. Hard when have that to compete with on the same day.

Also, Crooked Shadows feels like a collection of singles or songs wrote over a long period. It’s likely that’s what it was. Doesn’t have the continuity and flow of typical record. 9 is short. Heart Beat Here and We Fight will remain stand outs and most memorable. I did have another song come on shuffle from Crooked Shadows a day or two ago and was thinking how it was another good song. Doesn’t get stuck in my head like the others though. I should give it more listens in a slow period of releases. It’s seems like there has been a good album or two come out each month so far already

 

Be Alright is such a frustrating song to me. It sounds huge, but that chorus is so beyond lazy to me it just kills it.

 

Saw DC last night for free (I won the emo nite ticket giveaway!). They, and particularly Chris, sounded top notch. Good mix of songs but they played a REALLY short set. Maybe just over an hour. The drummer RIPS.

 

So I played my fiance Heart Beat Here in the car today and now 6 days before the wedding it is apparently supplanting our current choice for our first dance lol

 

I don’t come back to this at all... such a disappointing release for me

 

I thought it was disappointing at first but it has stuck around. Every track hits

 

It’s better than people give it credit for. Heart.Beat.Here is fantastic. We Fight, Crooked Shadows, and About Us are good in my books.

A few of the others are are sort meh, or rough around nd the edges in vocal performance and delivery. Kinda like someone trying something again that they haven’t done in years.

 

There is an acoustic version “We Fight” on Apple Music. Not sure how long it’s been up, but was my first time noticing it.
