you replace wake me and rapture with these songs I think this album would be received a lot better. lots of cool diminished chords in another life.

but yea... I'll be listening to this with those bonus tracks added in every time ha

I feel so bad when I see people telling the band the album is garbage on twitter and @ing spencer like... if you don't like it don't play it... so disrespectful to an artist you probably loved prior for years.. sorry had to vent, that made me angry

It’s especially weird considering how vocal Spencer has been about not caring if people like it or not

So weird to not even see James or Grant in the documentary, I understand they didn’t record their parts but still seems like they would have been featured

I think I almost like this album more than I would have if I hadn’t read all the negative reactions. It’s not my favorite Underoath album but there’s still plenty of heaviness/atmosphere even if it’s a bit more streamlined. Yeah, I miss the riffs but I’m enjoying this overall.

I wouldn’t replace Rapture. Wake Me though, for sure.

I should have been more specific. It sounds like Toby's breathy "singing" from the album.

Holy shit. I drop a DC Talk reference AND we get a Falling Up callback in the same thread? Wicked, wicked good.

Just finished the Jason Tate method. Gymed to "Erase Me" and it worked really well. Even the slower songs.

Caught my runners high during the bridge of Bloodlust and almost busted a nut. This album is growing on me so hard considering how skeptical I was when I first heard it and not digging the slower ones.

Ok. Finished my second listen, and I still jive with this a lot on the whole. I do agree though that they took a very safe route especially after Disambiguation.

Hold Your Breath, and In Motion are well worth the price of admission tho

I wonder if the reaction would have been different if this tracklist had a different order. The second half is so strong but I wonder if people didn't bother getting there.

I support what they wanted to do and it's probably lame to discuss sequencing but imagine if No Frame was first or something

Seeing their billboard in LA and an ad in Times Square today (through their instagram) is so crazy. Didn’t realize fearless had that kind of power. Even if this record was garbage, that is so damn cool to see.

I have these kinds of feelings a lot in songs and it’s always satisfying haha though sometimes songs go exactly where you don’t want them to go...like the more sleepwave-esque moments here

Also, can confirm a better than average workout when this was playin at the gym.

For what it’s worth the CD booklet actually has the lyrics to those songs too. Idk why but for some reason I expected it not to and was really happy when I saw that it did. Made it feel more worth it.

Yes...but a thing isn't beautiful because it lasts

Random observation, it's super weird to see Tim with a cigarette in the documentary, didn't realize he smokes. Maybe it was the stress of the recording process.

    Now I want one :sly:

I think they are signed directly to Concord Music Group, at least from the Lead singer syndrome podcast that's what Spencer says. Which is more like a major label and Fearless being a sort of subsidiary of it. CMG also helped them a lot in getting radio play

Really strange comparison, but somehow this record reminds me of Anberlin's Vital. The use of electronics to build songs and start them off, as well the semi straightforward (shorter) song structures found on both albums( with the exceptions of some songs)

I’ve gotten a Anberlin vibes on a few songs as well. I don’t think it’s a strange comparison at all.

My friend told me this is the exact type of record he would having wanted to hear in 2006 because it’s a mix of UO’s Define The Great Line and Skillet’s Comatose. Not sure if I entirely agree but I can see what he was going for.

I agree. I’ll share my opinions of the record in here or with friends but @ing the members is a dick move.
