METN is the worst ManOrch album. literally fight me.

 

this album is a damn ear worm. it's still my least favorite of the modern UO group of guys, and i don't foresee that changing, tbh. but i can't get quite a few of these songs out of my head.

 

So was I lol I just know a lot of fans of the first two albums trash talk anything post-Dallas.

 

After first listen, I can say I don't love this album, and I can't quite explain why. It feels like they took the pop tendencies from TOCS and shoved them into the industrial/heavy moods from LITOS and disambiguation but those two pieces of their sound don't super go well together as they were utilized on this album. Respect for throwing the mold out the window that has found them success, but sometimes trying on a new hat doesn't mean it looks good on you.

 

Good description, although I think the hooks are better than TOCS and I think that they went together well on this album although they don't mesh the sounds they were going for perfectly.

 

I would say
TOCS - best hooks but not many riffs
DTGL - best riffs but not not many hooks
LITSOS - equal amount of hooks and riffs although they may not be better than the ones in DTGL and TOCS

That’s why LITSOS is my fav

 

Thoughts - I don't like In Motion as much as most others seem to and I like Bloodlust way more than most others seem to

 

Yeah I wasn't completely sold on either of those songs on first listen but they've both grown on me since!

 

Someone please google drive or Dropbox me these bonus songs

 

after watching this documentary I think they made the record they wanted/needed to. I'm glad it exists.. it may not have been what I wanted but they definitely pushed themselves hard.

METN is incredible but so is ABMTTS

They took a small misstep in production with cope but they made up for it on HOPE

also simple math is underrated

 

I've been having no luck getting these bonus songs. I might go snag it from target after I get out of the gym, if you're interested DM me. They were supposed to get sent to me earlier, but still haven't received them. I'll keep whoever is interested in them posted

Loneliness is unbelievable...why isn't this on standard edition lol? I'm honestly confused.

 

Where the hell can I get these bonus tracks? Would be nice if there was actually a legal way to purchase them in Australia rather than the incredibly specific and targeted way they were released in America

Another Life is alright, not bad, but should have been the only bonus track, and they should have included Loneliness on the actual album. Probably has the most LITSOS/Disambiguation feel out of all the new songs

 

I really like Aaron's preverse part on It Has To Start Somewhere. Wish he got a little more main vocal opportunity on this album.

Loneliness reminds me of In Motion but more brutal. Really catchy chorus
