I'm hoping they don't lose the heaviness from the last album. That would probably be the only way I'd be disapppointed.

My hopeful expectations are that it's a very diverse album, but also includes very heavy parts, and that the lyrics are very poetic like TAI or Beggars. At the same time though, my favorite part about art and entertainment is when the artist does something completely different than what you were expecting and being blown away by it.

I'd love some stuff heavier than last album, like fire heavy, but then some softer/experiential stuff and basic rock stuff all mixed in.

I’ve always found that Thrice wrote songs that I would consider “political.” They are usually my favorite songs from them.

I don’t see TBEITBN as an outlier at all in that respect.

I wasn’t saying that they haven’t been political, but I’ve enjoyed the wordplay in the lyrics more on all their albums more than I enjoyed it in TBEITBN.

Definitely want them to be even heavier, but I suspect we’re going to be surprised by the arrangements they’ll pull off here.

    Those studio glimpses excite me.

I don’t want Beggars 2.0, as M/m kind of was this already.

But if it were a mix of Beggars and TAI Fire, I would not be upset.

Those are two extremes (stripped down and heavy) but I would love that as well! haha

Yeah that mix is probably my Thrice sweet spot, maybe sprinkle in some Water esque elements and I'll be one happy dude.

Who am I kidding? I'm gonna be a happy dude no matter what

I have no idea if it's your least favorite album, but do you consider Identity Crisis to be A+?

I really liked Dustin getting political on the last record and I don't see him going away from that for this upcoming record

    better political than religious. 100%.

That is my least favorite, and yeah I do. I didn't at first (I got into them with Vheissu and had to go back) but the more I listen to it, I love it for what it is. If you take all exceptions out of it and don't compare it to other Thrice records, I think it's really strong.

I hope it’s more political and angrier.

Yeah. I always loved the anger eminating from Dustin in songs like Cold Cash and the latter half of Beggars.

Not sure Blood on the Sand really reached those heights (though I do enjoy the song).

Would love it if something on the new record did.

I know it’s not popular here, but it’s the Biblical references that connected me to Thrice in the first place.

Hence my desire that those subtleties remain in the songs.

There's soooo many songs in their discography that already do that though, id rather he continue expanding his subject matter

I've never had an issue with any of his lyrics, religious or political, because he's such a great song writer.

At the end of the day, even if I don't agree with what's being said, I want the artist to write about whatever they are passionate about. It makes the song so much better when you can hear the passion!
