I will say this: for me, JEW is a band that has improved with time. I think Invented, Integrity Blues, and Chase This Light are their best work; I know most folks like Futures and Bleed American and Clarity better, but I just disagree. Those albums are close to perfect in my mind; their later ones ARE perfect.

Invented is honestly my favourite Jimmy by far. It's absolutely incredible. Chase This Light would be up there if they hadn't cut Be Sensible.

 

Invented is my favorite JEW album as well, and in a world before Julien Baker and Brian Fallon's solo work, it was #1 overall for a long time. It's still top 3 or 4 for me. It is literally perfect in my mind.

 

Dizzy is the single most underrated scene song of all time.

 

Top 5 favorite song of all time.

 

Heart is Hard to Find will probably always be my favorite Jimmy Eat World song, but, Dizzy is right behind it. That song fucking kills.

 

Jimmy Eat World is the best band in the history of the world at making slow to mid tempo songs. Their fast rock stuff is amazing, but when they slow down, they're unparalleled.

 

I knew I always liked you Jason.

It was my #1 for a little while, where it just seemed like the absolute soundtrack to everything happening in my life. Not even just the big emotional stuff but the little moments too, that record seemed tailor-made for the whole experience. It's so tied to that part of my life that I honestly don't revisit it that much these days, but every time I do it's still a fucking great album.

I thought Dizzy was so meh when I was young and first bought the album not long after it came out. But yeah what a song, not one of my favorites but it has come a LONG way for me.

 

OMG Gifts and Curses. I was never even a Yellowcard fan but that song always blew me away. I even went to their tour in 2004 just in hopes to hear that song, and they actually played it! lol
