this is so damn useless!! I really love the first track a ton.

also on repeat listens I keep picking up on more and more things that Aaron does on the kit that I really really like.

I really thought I was going to enjoy this record, but I'm struggling to.

The mixes seem to fall a bit flat but I've only listened in my car and will on other sets of speakers. The guitars are there (I don't quite get how people think there are barely any) but they don't seem wide and in your face so that might have something to do with it.

Also, man oh man did some of the lyrical moments cause severe facepalming.

I was never a die hard fan of this band, but DTGL, LITSOS, and Disambiguation were records I'd come back to for their sonic menace and doing that "style" of metal better than anyone else.

I understand this is Underoath for this era. I guess I just find it hard to believe that the band that could've ended on Disambiguation came back and gave us this.

The videos of their "final" performance really gave me a sense of finality and moved me to tears.. and I'm a passive fan. This reunion has just been weird to me.

I think Erase Me will create an awesome discourse on what we desire from bands who record comeback albums.

listening to "Unsound" You could sort of see them going in this direction. Thats such a great freaking song.

I will be interested to see if they keep making music past this. I love the album, I’m into the new direction, but it is always is an odd feeling when a band reunites, and the focus is on them reuniting. It makes it feel like a “one and done” thing. Blink felt the same way, but I was proven wrong. I hope they keep exploring this new sound, myself. It’s much more interesting than any of their past work, to me.

I’m pretty much an atheist at this point but the line from Ihateit: “GOD- ERASE ME! I DON’T DESERVE THE LIFE YOU GIVE I DON’T DESERVE THE LIVE YOU GIVE”

    Gives me chills every time.

I've now listened not once, not twice, but Thrice. LOL. I really enjoy It Has To Start Somewhere, On My Teeth, Bloodlust, Sink With You, Ihateit, Hold Your Breath, No Frame, and I Gave Up.

I think I didn't dig Rapture, Wake Me, or In Motion as much because I'm not into big radio rock anthems. For whatever reason, those choruses didn't resonate with me.

Overall super enjoyable though! I'm just glad we have a new Underoath album with Aaron again.

This record could use some more screams from Spencer...when he gets going on some of these songs they sound better than they ever have, extremely epic.

Sunburnt too. Both songs were noticeably more accessible than the stuff on Disambiguation. Totally agree with you there.

Not too mention they both had more structure as well. Between them and Sleepwave, I think the writing was on the walls for a more mainstream Underoath.

Even though I don’t love this album, I keep returning to it. Way more frequently than I thought I would too. I remember @Jason Tate making a post similar to this a little while back in the Q&A thread... maybe I need to finally get a gym membership. :chin:

Which is a funny comparison, because I liked that record because the many moments that felt like Disambiguation.

This definitely isn’t my favorite Underoath album, but with my listening tastes, it may be the one I’ll find myself returning to the most often if that makes sense. I often have to be in the right mood for albums like DTGL, LITSOS, and Disambiguation, but this album being so stylistically diverse and less heavy makes it “easier” listening for me in different settings. Obviously this is just my own listening preferences though.

I hate how spencer drags out “down” at the end of the first chorus in rapture but other than that it’s a pretty catchy song.

Hold Your Breath is a freaking BANGER. Damn I love that song on first listen.

Got my vinyl in last night and only had time for one listen through. I don't have the leak on my phone so I'm itching to get home and spin it again. It's definitely a different Underoath but I didn't know what to expect to begin with so it's surprising in a good way.

Aaron sounds great both vocally and drumming-wise. Spencer really carries the brunt of the vocal work and does a great job of it. It's really synth heavy and I'm glad Chris got to explore a ton on this record. Very minimal riffage on some songs.

Only thing is the pace jumps around from slow song to fast song, back to slow song. I definitely wasn't expecting ballad type songs. Overall, this album is a B+ from me. Granted, that's based on first listen. Hearing the singles a second time rung in how catchy they really are. Excited to listen to this album grow!

Already anticipating the next album building on this.

"I Gave Up," is crazy in that it does and doesn't like Underoath at the same time; great song.

They only played 4 songs but they sounded great and I was stoked considering I haven’t seen them since 2010.

I wish I could've been there... I'm deep in Orange County but I go out to LA for shows and occasionally Emo Nite, just didn't decide to make the trek out for this one.
