suburbia is extremely pop punk and doesnt do anything beyond the genre but it does it extremely well

 

You’re actually right. I’d say only a handful of those songs are through and through pop-punk but they all happen to be the more well known songs on it.

 

If you ask me what the 5 best pop-punk albums ever are, Suburbia and TGG both make the list

 

I don't see how We Look Like Lightning couldn't fit onto TGG. Everything else bar title track seems quite different though.

Album is growing and growing on each listen.

 

Back half of TGG isn't that good. I've never seen the hype for Funeral as a closer - I get what they tried but I don't think it came off.

Unpopular opinions all round.

 

Glad you guys dig it. Like seriously. There’s always a bit of uneasiness releasing a new record.

 

Intrigued about potential sets for the upcoming tour, hopefully a good chunk of Sister Cities makes the cut!

And doubly so with the amount of risks you guys took on this one. They paid off. You and the rest of the guys should be proud of what you did here.

 

Complaints about TGG's backhalf omit the fact that cul-de-sacs is the best song on the record.

We Look like Lighting is easily my favorite on here

I want to marry this album, and consider investing in a time shared chateau in the French Alps with it.

 

This is so fucking good. Transcends everything the band has done so far, and they’ve been my favorite band since 2011. I love that they explored their post-rock tendencies on a couple tracks.

This is wrong because when I last checked A Raindance in Traffic, Madelyn and Cul-de-sac were all on it.

I was wondering about that but after listening a few time I think it's just because the first few choruses aren't quite as... sing-along-ey if that makes sense? Still my fave on the album, but not a hype-leading single for the many

I’ve only played Hop Along since it dropped, though. That might be my AOTY

 

chaser fucking rules. Gets me every time. Used to not care for it until I realised it was #aboutme

 

The "I got Suckered In" refrain at the end of that song is one of one of my favourite parts of the whole album!

 

Not to discount anything in the past because I loved it all BUT damn it sorta feels like a whole new beginning for the band. I'm really excited for what comes moving forward from this point.

I'm gonna enjoy this record cycle so much !!! .
