American Vandal is the best show in that entire bracket.

BoJack is the best show on Netflix.

 

Planet Earth 2 is riveting

 

This was pretty good

 

I watched The Discovery last year, and I liked it. I think it got mixed reviews, but I dug the somber tone and ideas at play. Sci-Fi/Romance is my jam ha.

 

Starting to go thru the standup recs. I started with Mike birbiglia because I'm kinda unhealthily obsessed with john mulaney so seemed like a good starting point. I enjoy how pleasantly soft spoken he is. I'm so used to comedians like shouting at me.

 

Watched When We First Met last night. Pretty predictable rom com with the added negative of casting a dude that came out of Vine (Andrew Bachelor).

 

I actually loved When We First Met haha. Very predictable but I thought Adam Devine killed it as a leading man.

 

yeah sometimes it's refreshing to hear Mulaney Birbiglia and Gaffigan because they're generally pleasant, like so much comedy is just like "this is why I'm mad/depressed" and it's like sometimes I don't want it to be a bummer

 

Yeah chill relatability is good for me. I like hearing about happy birthday signs and perpetually late people. I've watched this and his Trump is a horse loose in the hospital video so many times. When he's like "part of me was just like... you know it's a ghost!" It was so relatable I couldn't handle it lol

I watched one of Tom Segura's and I didn't super care for whichever one I chose. When it's like white male comedians talking about porn and jerking off and stuff I'm just like lol... fascinating.

 

yeah I get bored with some white male comedians because it's just like "wah wah wah pc culture" and that stuff isn't funny in addition to being offensive

 

Omg and it's either that video or the Trump one where he talks to Stephen about seeing him at the MET gala and not saying hello because it was too late at one point and he was completely overthinking it. I'm like hey we're the same person. one of us is just wildly less successful than the other

 

Since he mentioned it in the video, is Big Mouth any good? I tend to avoid comedies that are super edgy or mean spirited and I don't know if that falls into that category

 

I only made it through 3 episodes. Seemed like Sausage Party the TV show to me... but others seemed to like it more.

 

I follow the Queer Guy five on Twitter and their interactions make me so jealous. Their friendship seems too pure for this earth.

 

So gross how many comedians go on and on about that stuff. Like, I guess it's for shock factor, but if you listen to enough comedy, it gets really boring. It's like, where are the jokes? Where's the punchline?

 

Yeah and honestly it just grosses me out. I know it's like a natural thing and all but sometimes the way they describe things are just vulgar and weird. Like in the Tom Segura one he talks about how horny and gross men are and then gives examples and im just like yeah I KNOW lol no need to expand. Louis CK is someone who always made me uncomfortable too. My ex tried playing his standup for me once and there was just something about the way he talked about some things that did not jive with me. So I can be a lil picky.

Mitch Hedberg is another one I enjoy. Like yes pls talk about club sandwiches and how sesame seeds stick to buns!!

I've seen people post garfunkel and oates videos but I don't know if I've ever watched one! Where should I start?

And YES I AM SO EXCITED FOR HIS SPECIAL. I don't keep track of comedy like I do music so I found out about his tour too late and couldn't go. I have been kicking myself for it so I'm hyped to see the special! I have seen his ones on Netflix a ridic amount of times and still laugh

 

I know this is kind of a lot but oh well
honestly they are definitely different style than mulaney/hedberg which are my 2 favorites
anyway if it's not for you it's not for you lol but here are some of my favorites

There isn't one where I live. The nearest one just got put in an hour away
