Really? That might actually be worth trying. Kind of like a dream of mine come true.

He'll pierce it with a throwing star.

Got my hands on it. Don't worry I'm not leaking it, but holy hell! it's good

Update just finished it and spontaneously started sobbing during the closer even if I had absolutely no intention to. It snuck up on me.

Any songs that really stuck out as that "next step"? Or is it a fairly consistent, overall shift in sound?

Not enough people crying at this pop up shop listening party

  7. Title track ended up being my least favorite on this. Which says a lot because I really liked Sister Cities

I’d agree this is their best record.

does this imply I'm not the only dumbfuck crying and at least SOME people are crying at the pop up?

For all u diehards out there, you’ll be happy to know that there’s a reference to This Party Sucks/Passing/You In January to continue the tradition

  10. Ahhhh fucking hell I need this in my life

Did y'all know there's a Target exclusive edition CD with alternate artwork and a bonus track? Because that's a thing.

not asking for the leak but it's wild that I expected it to leak 24 hours ago and it still hasn't yet

There were quite a few on the last album as well

There’s also references to NCTH on this album

Oh really? No idea how I didn't pick up on them since since the references pre NCTH seemed to stand out more to me in listening lol

Dumbfounded by how good that closer is. They've always had amazing closer but that one is long-entrapped magik original elemental energy-infused shit. Not to be hyperbolic or anything.

Damn, you guys aren't making this "one week left" thing any easier.

  17. sucks that Target exclusive editions are only available in US/CA/MX

had to go through an eBay seller for the hookup, and I may have missed out on the book package thing. not sure. anyway I see TWY have an official Bandcamp now so I'm gonna preorder the digital through there since I have hangups with Hopeless over the whole Moose Blood thing.

I'll pick up a book package through Discogs probably... unless they have leftovers on tour with them... hmmm,

    yep, quite a few.

so this ones a bit more extravagent i guess, but Stained Glass Ceilings mentions "bastards", A Song For Patsy Cline mentions "vultures", and Cigarettes & Saints mentions "wolves" to make up a reference to The Bastards The Vultures And The Wolves

"i know the Devil youve been fighting with" on Cardinals references Devil In My Bloodstream

"you werent born my brother, but youre gonna die that way" could be seen as a nod to the idea presented in Cul-De-Sacs where Dan says "i thought my kids would call you uncle"

Palm Reader has two: "the people i thought would be heroes are acting like cowards, killers, and theives" can be seen as the darker side of "watching my heroes turn human in front of me" and "coming undone at the seams" mentions Hostels & Brothels "so you found me on the floor im split open at the seams"

No Closer To Heaven has the lyric "I'm digging up the bones of the failures I've buried" which calls back to the imagery presented in And Now I'm Nothing where he says "As long as I'm home I can dig up these bones"

A Song For Patsy Cline mentions airbag lights which is an allusion to "car crash dreams" from Me Vs The Highway, it even details a hypothetical car crash in which Dan crashes on purpose

You In January repeats the often mentioned "I was hoping youd stay" and concludes with "I'm glad that you stayed"

this one might be a stretch but I Dont Like Who I Was Then has the lyric "I want to shoulder the weight till my back breaks" which may be a reference to "the weight of the world would be ok if it would pick a shoulder to lean on" from My Last Semester

  21. OK I'm out, unsubscribing until this is released or streams or whatever because the thread's probably due to explode, see you next week!

  22. The event tonight was awesome as well. The listening party was really neat. Definitely glad I bought a CD today so I could read along with the lyrics for that first listen. The performance was really great and relaxed, and the mood in the room was obviously really high and celebratory. It felt really great to be a part of it.

It feels so good to enjoy and be associated with a band like this. They deserve all the success and more.

  24. I’ll post more thoughts on the record as I listen again tomorrow but “It Must Get Lonely” was the major standout track during the listening party for me.
