1. yeah, I really hope those pledgers got the lessons with Phil done already! I have enough signed stuff from them that I wouldn't feel too bummed if my Vinyl was missing Phils, but I'd feel bad for everyone else.

2. I think part of their budget was shooting all 4 music videos on the same stage, maybe within the same day haha (for the band performance). I think Bang Bang had the most go into it because Praying for Rain looks like they changed clothes, shot a few one take shots of the song and then filmed Dan in the creek later.

I hope they release those anyway. Honestly Praying for Rain seemed to leave Phil out a ton so I dunno if it's that big of a deal, but I have a feeling if they chose to not release those with the footage they have, we just wont get them at all.

Someone else posted this in Article Discussion. Just in case you all didn't see it. This is the shit going on in Phil's life right now. I'm guessing SOTY didn't want it associated with their name.

Phil isn't doing anything wrong but gets kicked out the band. I get it in a way.

 

Didn’t someone say that Phil’s ex-wife is Ryan’s wife’s sister? That adds a whole other layer of complications to it too.

Yeah, I think they are sisters. I'm sure Phil didn't want it to escalate this far, but her life is basically ruined. I agree with people saying that she's not a victim, in the sense of her being unfaithful to Phil. But that doesn't make it right for a guy (the governor) to blackmail her with naked pictures. And that is what is going to ruin her life, now that the racist radio freak revealed their identities and address, I see all those people commenting on how she deserves this and that this wouldn't happen if the guy wasn't a republican. Some people even accuse her of lying.

I would be mad too if I were Phil, his heart was clearly broken. But I guess this is a result of him recording her confession and wanting to expose her. I don't know if he ever intended to destroy her life and reputation, but that is just how it works.

After educating myself on this situation, I can finally say this is not a band thing, this is a personal family thing. This is between them. If it was me, I would have a hard time working with someone who supports the other side of the conflict (Ryan, his wife and his wife's sister VS Phil). I'm not choosing sides, I believe they are all good people with their own opinions, and sometimes the chemistry isn't right anymore. It would be like choosing between your mom and dad after a divorce, where none of them were right or wrong.

I'm glad Adam is back in SOTY full time, and I hope Greek Fire will get a bad ass guitarist. Though it seems like Ryan is still friends with the other GF dudes.

 

Do I think she should be blackmailed ? Not at all, but unfortunately when you play a dirty game you ultimately should expect something bad to happen. Also, people saying if this person wasn't a republican none of this would happen is wrong. It doesn't matter what you affliate, affairs happen on any part.

 

Out if the loop with the current goings on but I’ve been jamming this album so much lately. What a rocker.

 

Yes it is! It hasn’t left my car stereo since it’s release! I like anyone who says good things about wolves lol.

Favorite tracks?

 

Super cliche but I really like them all honestly. I’m a big fan of albums that not only rip but leave a moment or two to catch your breath and this album does that so well.

The flow of this album is perfect. Sometimes with heavier albums I get a little listening fatigue but this is great. Great riffs. Great drums. Great melodies. Dan sounds better than ever to me.

 

Not cliche at all, as that’s how I feel too! Sure I can pick stand outs but at the end of the day I like every song and I agree with your thoughts on the flow and sound of the album. Glad you dig it!

 

Going into the album the first week or so, I thought Bang Bang was going to be my number 1 off the album but it's fallen to the bottom of my top 5. Song is still fantastic though.

 

I think How Can We Go On thru Miracle is the best part of the album. Can Anybody Hear Me loses me a bit after all of those strong tracks, then A Part of Me thru Eternal Battle is great, then My Home loses me, Goodnight My Love brings me back in, then Like Ghosts loses me again, then most of Praying for Rain is awesome, but I could lose the spoken word part. Basically, I like the album a lot but it's more uneven for me than their other records.
