obnoxious.... or flamboyant and panach'd?

 

If anyone's going to the pop-up shops this week/next, I would love to buy one of the red/white/blue/yellow jackets.

 

i wouldve never known but thats really cool. it sounds super crisp so that makes sense. i vaguely remember you saying something, i think back during the TGG era, that you preferred to have at most 4 songs on the records with piano/key parts and that you felt more comfortable as a guitarist. do you feel more confident as a keyboarist/pianist now or have you guys actively been trying to incorpate that extra texture more? it seems like pretty much every song on here has some sort of keyboard part but maybe some of them are guitar tapping.

 

Definitely feeling more confident on keys these days. It’s a combination of texture and just feeling right for songs. There’s also a bunch of additional layered parts that I won’t be able to do live. I had a day or two with Carlos adding little synth bits here and there.

Think I'm gonna buy the grey swirl since it matches the artwork so well

 

yeah i can imagine some of these songs, such as the closer, may be a bit of a challenge live due to how....massive the song gets and how many little textures float in and out of the song.

My partner so happens to be visiting family in Detroit, and is picking up merch for me. It’s a good day.

 

Looks like everyone is getting their copies in hand right now that are at the in store!

I don't think today has merch / just the in store performance. Philly and Chicago are the only pop up shops

Wish it was possible for me to just stay in Detroit last night after Lorde so I could check this out today :/ And I'm going back out there tomorrow for ETID so would have been nice haha

Going to be incredibly difficult not to listen to this as soon as it leaks but I kinda want my first experience of the record to be looking at the book whilst it plays. Decisionssss
