It really is as simple as scalpers can't profit off these tickets the way they used to, so there's more tickets available for actually fans, and so many people would rather just wait until closer to the fest to buy them.

It'd be interesting to see the internal dynamics of this. How does an 8 day sell out compare to a 45 minute sell out? If scalpers can't offload their inventory, less people are in the park, how much does the festival notice that (if at all)?

I will agree with you on the headliners. I personally enjoy them all to varying degrees, but they're not blowing anyone away.

I don't know, I just find how festivals run to be incredibly interesting. That said, I can see myself going to one day this year.

Friday looks pretty tight. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t considering doing that one day just to see Tyler and Brockhampton.

Also want to do Saturday but it’s literally only because of Vampire Weekend.

  5. Yeah, I’d go Friday if I was in town.

Thurs and Friday are the best days for me. I think Vampire Weekend might be the only thing I'd be really excited for Saturday. Sunday is ok

    Top 4 each day:

Thursday - Arcitc Monkeys, Camila Cabello, All Time Low, Basement
Friday - Tyler the Creator, Brockhampton, the Neighbourhood, Dream Wife
Saturday - Vampire Weekend, St. Vincent, Dua Lipa, Catfish and the Bottlemen
Sunday - Portugal. the Man, Manchester Orchestra, Rex Orange County, Kali Uchis

If the schedule let's me see all of them and whoever else I can work in, then I'll be very happy. This is definitely the least I've ever cared about the headliners, which is kind of nice actually because I don't have to worry about trying to get great spots or anything. Also if Brockhampton closes the Grove Friday, I think I'll be skipping the main headliners, which I've never done before, but I'm just not really that interested in Bruno or The National (though I will definitely go to Bruno for a little bit at least).

I'm pretty excited for this year.

    Top 4 each day.
Thursday: Blackbear, All Time Low, Travis Scott, Franz Ferdinand.
Friday: Post Malone, Walk The Moon, Nothing Nowhere Bebe Rexha.
Saturday: The Weeknd, Zedd, Dua Lupa, Daya.
Sunday: Odesza, Portugal The Man., Manchester Orchestra, The Aces.

Just really wish this wasn’t the same weekend of my Warped Tour dates or I would totally fly out for it.

Thursday CHVRCHES / Franz Ferdinand / All Time Low / Basement

Friday Bruno Mars / Post Malone / Tyler the Creator / Walk the Moon / Brockhampton / Greta Van Fleet / Bebe Rexha / Gang of Youths / Post Animal / Alex Lahey / Clairo / Nothing Nowhere

Saturday Vampire Weekend / St. Vincent / LL Cool J / Catfish and the Bottlemen / Lil Pump / Daniel Caesar / Daya / Arizona / Pale Waves / Sir Sly / Lovelytheband

Sunday Jack White / Lil Uzi Vert / Portugal the Man / Gucci Mane / Chromeo / Manchester Orchestra / Rex Orange County / The Vaccines / The Regrettes

Friday's looking like the clear winner. Saturday would be good too but I'd 80% going for Vampire Weekend, and I feel like if I wait a year I can just see them in Michigan.

I don't really see a single conflict I'm upset about

  11. Yeah, my hypothetical schedule wouldn’t have many direct conflicts, but a lot of running between the Tito’s and Grant Park stages, so I’d realistically only be seeing like 3/4 of each band.

Yea this worked out really really well for me. Probably the best a Lolla schedule ever has actually.

I don't know if I'm going to the Weeknd or Vampire Weekend, but that conflict was to be expected. I'm not sure what I'm doing at the end of the day with St Vincent, Dua Lipa, and those two headliners all in there.

Chvrches vs. Khalid I'm not sure on, but only because I don't truly care that much about either (I'll probably do Chvrches because I'm planning on Camila and Arctic Monkeys, and Chvrches is by them).

Of course there's some other minor conflicts, but nothing that's got me gutted. Everyone I was most excited for will be very easy to see.

    The intrusive whisper fascinates me

I'm not going to Lollapalooza (seeing that I live in California and do not have the time), but for the heck of it, I downloaded the app and made my personal schedule of every and/performer I'd want to see, and there are absolutely NO conflicts at all. That is such a rare occasion for me, I'd almost consider making the trip out to Chicago for it.

Also, heads up, it looks like CKY got moved from Thursday to Friday.

For the hell of it I went and made a schedule for me. For Friday that Post Malone and Walk The Moon conflict would awful and then Chase Atlantic and James Bay is pretty bad too. Then Sunday I feel would be very blehh for me with only really want to see Odesza, The Aces and Portugal. the Man. So I’m not to bummed I’m missing this.

Blackbear cancelled his set - he's battling severe pancreatitis. He's been replaced by Jaden Smith.

    Where are your friends tonight?

Jessie Ware had to drop out as well, so Carly Rae Jepsen’s been added to the lineup, performing Saturday.

I really hope she plays an aftershow, I’d love to see her again but don’t want to spend $160+ just for her and St. Vincent.

Oh hell yes and she fit right in a spot where I didn't have solid plans. Both the replacements so far have been big upgrades. I'm so excited for this Lolla
