I think R Kelly has been accused of literally everything at this point and absolutely none of it is surprising.

i don't know, i don't think it necessarily matters in this case, but regardless of what happened, promoting a review this way is ridiculously shitty and only encourages more victim blaming. it's the same thing as bringing up the conor oberst situation, it is unimportant to bring that up

what this guy doesn't get is that i'm not even commenting on whether the allegations are true or not. all i'm saying is that it's not a good idea to frame anything in this light, saying "band falsely accused puts out good album" is dangerous and victim blaming regardless on whether it happened or not

 

Meanwhile in Ireland/The UK today, a group of rugby players were allowed to walk free on a group rape charge despite a seriously high level of evidence.

Jake, calm the fuck down. I'm not making a shitty point and I'm certainly not using him as an example of false allegations. I'm saying, if you've read the profile pieces on him, you'll know that they rely heavily on that content around that entire situation. It's absolutely shitty, but what are we to do about it? Even when someone has come out said "Don't use me as an example", it's continued to be used as an example in almost every piece I've read on him.

 

And proof that it's not just an American problem as someone, if I remember correctly, insinuated earlier.

am i in the wrong to call out the rise against/afi/anti flag tour for being the whitest male tour since whoever Tiny moving parts is currently on the road with? i guess maybe i'm creating conflict where there isn't one, i'm just real sick of seeing that shit

i just know as a member of a band with four white men, i go as out of my way as i need to to ensure all of our shows have non-male and non-white representation in some form or another, so maybe i have a particular sensitivity towards this

twitter and their community seem to be saying the same things i am, which is good to see at the very least

 

that tour's pretty average tbh, just look at any "rock" show these days
