That suit makes him looks like an action figure lol. Very cool that he's going to voice Superman in the Teen Titans movie, though. I'll probably check it out at some point, even though I've never watched the series.

 

I'm 10min into the new Suicide Squad movie, and it is... really violent.

 

The movie was fine. Some fun stuff and a cool concept, but I didn't love it. I like Christian Slater as Deadshot.

 

Watched this last night and jesus, you are correct. I did not expect it to be that violent at all. Some of their past films have been pretty violent but this was just gory.

I remember as a kid watching Batman TAS and seeing the red line down his lip and thinking it was awesome. I can't imagine seeing this kind of stuff as a kid. I'll have to just show my kids the old stuff instead....

The movie itself was kinda eh for me. I really liked seeing all the random DC characters in there though, didn't expect to see a lot of them and I was surprised the Flash Point tie in......

....but them out running Reverse Flash in a van and fighting him hand to hand was comically bad.

 

Ya I liked seeing characters I hadn't seen in these movies before, and I like that they weren't afraid to kill a bunch of people off. I thought Bronze Tiger was pretty cool. Them outrunning Reverse Flash was iffy to me too, but I guess the excuse is that he was very weakened at that point.

 

I finally finished Gotham by Gaslight and I really liked it. Lately the forced language and sexuality in these movies don't play out well, but in this movie it wasn't bad at all and fit the story.

As someone who never read this comic, I was really surprised by the twist ending too and would recommend this for sure.

Kind of a retread on the first movie, but if they flesh it out more and include the Justice League, I'm down for more!

 

Batman Ninja is out there. The writing is just serviceable, but the animation is gorgeous. It's definitely worth the watch for the cool visuals. I went with the English dub, so I'm not sure how the original Japanese version compares. English voice acting was decent.

 

I have that to watch next!

I realized I never watched Batman and Harley so am almost done with that.

But man, is it pretty terrible. It's like they had no idea for a story here, but just wanted to make a comedy with Harley in it coming off of Suicide Squad since she was a stand out.

All the comedy falls flat except for her making fun of Nightwing's mullet that he used to have.

Speaking of his mullet, the only real enjoyable part of this is dipping back into Batman The Animated Series world. Just seeing that batmobile design and the red sky made me happy.

Nothing else is good though, and Harley being able to fight and win against Nightwing is super redonk.

 

And not to make this a bitch fest haha, but the voice actress for Harley is terrible and Batman and Nightwing should not be super wise cracking non stop.

If they were going to dip back into the Batman Animated Series world again and spend time and money on it, they could have done anything else and make it worth wild. What a complete waste.

 

Ya Batman and Harley Quinn is definitely one of the worst of the DC Animated bunch.

Batman Ninja just looks so cool. It was great to see all these characters through a fresh lens. Tony Hale voices the Joker in the English version, and he's got the laugh nailed down pretty good. Tara Strong voices Harley and does a pretty good job.

 

It was so weird not to get Tara Strong to voice her in the Batman and Harley movie!

I'll probably see Ninja Batman tomorrow and report back!

Wow, what a watch Batman Ninja is. No spoilers, but I'm so glad its more than what the trailer made it out to be (typical Batman vs Joker story).

I am so happy at all the characters they included in this, almost every major alley and major villain show up in one way or another.

I loved the voice casting, everyone did a great job and I think Roger Craig Smith as Batman and Tony Hale as Joker are my favorites for these two after Conroy/Hamill of course.

The animation and fight scenes are fantastic and I loved the animation switch during the Batman/Redhood/Joker scene.

Can't recommend this enough. What a jump from watching the worst DCA movie back to back with one if it's best lol.

 

Looking forward to this.
