    man, I'm pretty Prestigious

33 was almost a bottom 5 ppv of 2017 - i dont think it was, but it was close. really not very good. no real standout match. a lot of it was outshone by the build (hello hhh/rollins, ko/jericho, even nikki/cena) or just flat out terrible (reigns/taker, ambrose on the preshow, orton/wyatt)

32 was an all-timer. one of the worst ever

Take arms, it'll all blow over Prestigious

As someone who's first in-person mania was 32 it was fucking awful.

It started off pretty good. AJ vs Shane was better than anyone expected it to be. KO vs Jericho was fine. So was the women's four-way. Hardy Boyz return was huge. After those first four matches I was thinking "man if the rest of the card holds up this could be a great Mania"

Then, instead of doing the right thing and having Miz beat Cena and then having downtrodden Cena propose lol cena wins and the rest of the PPV went to shit. Only highlight after that point was the Brock vs Goldberg match.

the problem with hhh/rollins was that it was a year too late. bad circumstances took away from what could've been a great match the year before.

....was too long by a good 10 minutes. I can only take so many minutes of HHH working the same damn leg and believe Rollins can wrestle again in the same year, let alone the same match.

At 15-18mins, that match would have been great. Needed to be the same length as Jeri-KO. Instead it got 25+ and the womens match got ~5mins when it needed 10-12.

That would still be an Asuka loss. If losing in a tag team match is a "loss" by their streak standards, then losing a triple threat match counts too.

Which I think they should do simply to break the streak in a way that doesnt hurt Asuka, and doesnt saddle someone (Rousey) with that Roman-"it should have been someone else" heat. Whereas Carmella as MITB + streak breaker can always be a heel in a pinch

  15. Apparently the WWE app listed the SD tag title match as being a TLC match. It’s been removed since.

only one that makes any sense as a ladder match (unless they are gonna book Braun to be scared of heights like they did AOP in the Takeover: Chicago match). And lord help me, I do not want to see Orton, Roode, Jinder, and Rusev put on a shitty ladder match

The only thing I remember about HHH/Rollins match is that Kenyon Martin was going to fight some dude in the crowd a couple of rows in front of me.

Well, yeah of course. I never meant to imply that was a good idea. I was just trying to get some clarification on what domo meant.

Couldn't disagree more. First of all, Carmella really sucks, so I think that's a problem from the start when you talk about her being involved in any way.

Second I think that sometimes in wrestling storylines just need to pay off. Full stop. When you invest that much time and energy into something like this, you just have to let it go, and hope it works out. You can't try to hedge on something you built for so long. Kind of like Roman. You might as well just give him the belt and see if it works once instead of constantly trying work around it.

This is why I personally hate all these fan theories about ways to end her streak. like, we all know what's going to happen. Unless something dramatic happens with Rousey, we might as well just sit back and see if it works. It might be terrible for Ronda (probably) or it might not

  21. I loved this. I remember being extremely pissed off browsing Twitter right before Mania because someone tweeted betting odds and Ryder had become a pretty overwhelming favorite.

There are spoilers out for the end of the new season of Lucha Underground

apparently Marty the Moth is the top heel and MVP of the season. And it ends with Jack Swagger as the new champ.

I get this, but, look at the wasted year we got "waiting" for Roman/Brock to happen. They've taken since Summerslam to build Asuka up as a title threat, so I imagine we are seeing an even slower build for Ronda. So, maybe by Survivor Series? Or the Rumble? Thats another 9 months of Asuka being undefeated and there being no suspense in the Smackdown title chase (and probably 9 more months where Becky doesnt matter, for example).

Just feels like the streak is more likely to be a negative (see MMC) than a positive going forward, especially since she won SS, won the Rumble, beat everyone on RAW, etc.

I also hate the possibility that both cash-ins from Smackdown will fail this year, and that the first womens cash-in will fail

But let’s be honest. Not a great sign when the best moment from a WM happens in the first match.
