I honestly could put a lot of songs from Wolves as my least favorite.

Can Anybody Hear Me (is this a Simple Plan song?)
My Home (I like the chorus, but the verses sound too poppy and electronic)
Goodnight, My Love (this sounds like an Anberlin song from the "Dark Is the Way" era)
Like Ghosts (this is just terrible)
Praying for Rain (yes. this song. it's kinda boring, and far from an "epic closer")

I also HATE the dubstep bridge thing in The Eternal Battle for Mike Cronin's Soul, I hate it because it is ruining an awesome song.

 

I do not disagree with this post. If they'd released an EP of the songs not mentioned in this post, it'd be tight. I feel like there's a lot of boring songs on Wolves.

 

I agree with a lot of this and here are my replies lol.

Can Anyone Hear Me is the only one I really skip on Wolves. I don't dislike it, it just doesn't really stick with me. LOL-ed at the Simple Plan line though, I can't really argue it lol. I heard this done acoustically though and it sounds a lot better stripped down.

I really love My Home even though it is poppy and electronic. I think if they hadn't gone super pop and electronic on a lot of other songs, it'd stand out more but on this album it just kinda blends in with the rest.

You nailed the Anberlin comparisons on Goodnight. The outro jam sounds like Prey Tell.

The thing about Praying for Rain is if the song was a lot shorter it'd be a ton better. The first half is so boring and spoken word part is a no no. After the spoken word part "Take my life, it's only blood" into the guitar solo is amazing though.

The dub step bridge in Mike is not a deal breaker for me, but either a solo or hardcore break down would have worked sooooo much better and was missing dearly from this album.

 

I will not stand for this Wolves hate. All SOTY is 10/10

 

Yeah, and the intro sounds similar to We Owe This to Ourselves, haha.

I also agree with what you say about the songs. They could've been better with/without something.

 

I love it all, but even things you love can still be criticized

 

Goodnight My Love and Praying For Rain might be my two favorites from Wolves...

This is so sad. They always seemed like they were having so much fun together and knowing that Phil was basically kicked out leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

 

I wonder why they decided this. They didn’t just wake up one day and go bye Phil
