Yeah bit of a leap, not something I condone either, apologies for the extreme analogy. That's definitely not an accurate representation. What I meant to imply was, scolding someone and talking down to them like they are a child isn't going to make their mindset mature. Engage someone like a peer if you want them to think and respond like an adult.

When I was 17 I thought I was cis so obviously people change but also I never learned anything from people being nice to me or explaining things to me about my naturally shitty views that everyone has at 17, I just dismissed it. You don't teach someone in their late teens the way you teach an 8 year old child. I learned from people universally screaming at me, realising I was horribly wrong, and then doing research myself, CHOOSING to expand my horizons.
And I also won't explain shit that people can google when I could be doing literally anything else with my life, except if they want to drop money in my paypal, as sophos said.

Anyway thread closed I just wanted to say I'm very much happy that everyone screamed at the kid and they'll say thank you in 2 years.

i saw his band at a festival before that and it was one of the grossest, most slimeball performances i have ever seen, and people just brushed it off as a "rock persona"

 

that's not surprising in the slightest...looking back at a lot of their music over the years (i used to be a fan ala the connection with josh homme), it's just...sleazy in a bad way. 16-18 year old me thought I was being edgy for listening to them.

never heard of no jumper until this tweet showed up on my feed, but this is insane. a lot of the people conor called out for associating with these guys and not saying anything are people I follow fairly closely on twitter and IG. a couple of them have said stuff about abuse/siding with victims in the past, so this is super disappointing too.
