Does anyone here do dynasty or deep keeper leagues? Need some advice

 

I’m in a couple. One is actually with knuckleheads from chorus that started a couple years ago. I’m sure they’d pipe in, too.

 

What platform do you use for these leagues? I'm trying to find the best possible replacement for the one we use

 

I use ESPN for both. I’ve used Yahoo in the past, but ESPN seems to work best for what we need. Some of it’s a pain, but the customization allowed certainly helps. One league does an offline draft and the other does the standard online and both work really well. Only thing that bugged me with ESPN was it forces a snake draft when doing online, but thankfully it allows picks to be traded so I was able to use LM powers to create a “standard” draft via trades.

 

TBH I had no idea you could trade picks on ESPN, my biggest issue is that they're so bad with uploading prospects into the system and it's super annoying. We don't have huge farms (wish we did) but a relatively average to small one and the fact that they're so slow is just a pain in the ass. I hear that cbs lets you write in your own players and yahoo is a little more up to date, there's also more complicated ones like slack and other super nerd servers you can do it on but that feels really annoying too.

 

Haha yeah I would hate to have to manage stuff like that for sure. We do use Slack as a way of communicating and discussing trades though, which is nice. I could definitely see the issue with prospects on ESPN if you’re doing a farm/minor roster. Both leagues I’m in are just standard (with 6-8 bench slots) so any prospects on rosters are typically considered top 100 and are usually in the system.

Edit: could you do something like a Google Spreadsheet to keep up with the minor roster? I don’t know how you handle adding players to your farm (auction/waivers throughout the season or just a one time draft), but that seems like something that could work. Each team would just have to have an empty roster spot online for a player that isn’t yet added to the system.

 

Yea, we use a spreadsheet to keep track of that stuff but it's for limited use so if your team sucks and you want to hold prospects you cant get a lot of them. If I was LM I would give more spots than 10, make it more interesting but I think because half the league is ridiculously good and half the league is catching up to that half and has some total shit teams they don't want us to get better faster so they keep it limited. I really wanna do a deep dynasty league one day but man am I frustrated with ESPN rn.

 

My draft just started. I'm pumped for the season.

 

I am debating taking a trip up to LA to see Dodgers/A's game in a few weeks.

Everything the Braves have done this offseason has left me yawning. Not that I'm upset or overly butthurt about it, but how many 0 WAR outfielders & utility men do we need on the roster? It's like every single week they're signing another castoff.

I'm in a 16 person fantasy baseball league and I'm unfamiliar with like half my roster.

 

I'm down but I also probably suck a LOT so not sure how well it'd go hahaha

 

I still haven't opened my the show 17

I just suck at video games :(

 

I still don't have modern systems, one day...

 

My player is named Lawrence Cougar and plays second base for the Blue Jays AA affiliate

 

I'll prob spring for a PS4 this year. I still just play RTTS on MLB 15 on my Vita which was the last year they made it haha

 

If i eventually play I think I want to be a pitcher or short stop seem like the fun positions.

 

Pitcher was fun in 17, haven't tried it yet in 18 but I'm sure it's the same

 

I want to be the anti kershaw

so basically in the minor leagues forever

(Yeah I found all the LSU players and drafted them. I am also not very good at this game but I love it)
