Seems more like preference to me. I believe Mark has said playing any longer feels like it starts to drag. I mean, if he feels that way or at least loses the enthusiasm after so long then it's understandable.

I wonder how he feels about The Cure playing 3+ hour sets every night

I have no problems with hits and blink in Vegas. The place is full of tourists. You guys gotta realise they’re a very mainstream band and not ever one are frothers like us
Would you want to see Britney in Vegas and she doesn’t play Oops, toxic, Baby, Slave 4 U and sometimes. You’d be ropable

Mark sounds pretty good here. This should honestly be a staple in their setlist.

  6. Apple Shampoo, Every Time I Look For You, Online Songs. Basically every Mark deep cut, YES.

I always US crowds are so reserved bar the first few rows. Even japan go more nuts (but deadly silent and polite in between songs haha)

I feel like blink need to drop Enema and pre-, or maybe even TOYPAJ songs down half/a full step for Mark to be able to sing them properly. Something about that performance just seemed off.

Been talking with a buddy of mine who's just as obsessed with Blink as I am......if they announce that one of the November dates is a throwback night we're 100% flying out and making a weekend out of it.

I really wish they'd let us know what dates they'll be playing old songs before I buy tickets.

I believe so, but surely any punk loving person knew these off by heart by 1999

I think the perfect solution to solve the stale set list while allowing them to continue to play their hits/usual songs and also some deeper cuts would be to bring back the 4 minute Medley songs that they did for the Untitled Tour. They played parts of Dumpweed, M+M's, Josie, Man Overboard and Dumpweed again. Imagine if they played two sets of Medley songs maybe a pre Enema set with a combination of Pathetic/Josie/Wasting Time/M+M's/Waggy/Apple Shampoo and a post Enema set with Dumpweed/Don't Leave Me/ Wendy Clear/Roller Coaster/Everytime I Look For You/Online Songs for example.

I honestly think that would be the best way to appease fans. In a perfect world they would play a Medley for each album but again that's in a perfect world.

  16. in a perfect world, they'd just play those songs in full. :-)

but yeah, the medley was fun. it'd be especially fun if they changed it up even more than that. basically just shuffling 6-8 songs and then playing a medley of 3 or 4 of them. that would be fun, but i'd still prefer they just extend their stage time from 90 to even 100 minutes so they could squeeze in a few more songs while still keeping their typical setlist.

    Things have changed.

    Yes, he has a prompter.

  18. The issue is that Mark insists no one wants to hear them longer than 90 minutes. Tack on an extra 30-45 minutes and you have a large block for deep cuts.

Kick it off with your typical opener and hits, block in the middle for deep cuts, finish it off with more hits followed by ATST and Dammit. Call it a night. 200 mins.

Locks-in the casual fans with the opener and hits and then they gotta stick around through the deep cuts to hear their ATST and Dammit.

They would die after two shows of 200 minutes.

Haha I was exaggerating. Their current set is somewhere around 110 mins right? Add on a 30 min block of deep cuts. Those earlier songs are all right around 3 mins or shorter.

Ha I wish their sets were 110 minutes. Its more like 1 hour and 10 minutes.

I don't know how anyone else feels about it, but I really enjoyed when they performed a few stripped down, acoustic versions of some deep cuts and old songs a few years ago. I feel like throwing special things like that in to some of these shows would be killer and would make me actually want to see them for multiple nights in a row.

I just think it might be a cool way for them to integrate some songs they don't normally play. And if they wanted to make it even more of a spectacle, they could say fuck it and have a string quartet accompany them.
