Going to california next month (LA)... anyone have suggestions on where/what/how to 420 blaze it?!

 

I didn’t bring anything back because I’m a wimp. I gotta find a connection at home with pens. It’s fantastic.

 

from what i understand, our governor opened up all state parks (and beaches) to smoking, but honestly there's so many ways to partake that you could just be a regular tourist with some weed added in. like a vape pen will be nearly invisible compared to "weed smell" and there are edibles of all kinds, you name it: cookies, brownies, mints, hard candies, gummies, sodas, lemonade, coffee

all shops are supposed to be cash only, but some places have lucked out and can take cards. regardless, the taxes will annoy you.

 

What types of percentages are we talking for tax?

 

the state charges a 15% excise tax on every item, then throw in county and city taxes. i live in san jose and it breaks down like this:
-15% California state excise tax (each item taxed)
-9.25% Santa Clara County sales tax
-10% San Jose marijuana business tax
so 34.25%.

i honestly have no clue what los angeles county/city itself charge...but also remember this is california and they tax the shit out of everything.

 

there will be deals though, if you look on dispensaries' sites and stuff. the place i work gives 10% off flower from 9-10 am every day. and if you buy an 8th you can get a pre-rolled cone (joint) for a $1. or like, there's another shop here that has a 20% off vapes on tuesdays 3-5, things like that.

 

I think that in LA the total tax is around 30%. Some shops don't include the tax in their online menu so I would for sure check that or call in ahead of time to see if you need to bring extra cash or not.

 

Going to Om Edibles' kitchen is one of the coolest things I've gotten to do so far.

Finally making enough to get a consistent supply of weed. Feelsgoodman, especially since it's probably gonna be a WHILE before it's legalized here in Texas.

 

so i'm part time interning for the dispensary in the marketing department, and it's the coolest shit ever, but also they have positions open for gardeners/trimmers on the "weed side" and i'm tempted to apply. i want to learn stuff from the ground up, be around the plants. and also i need more income and this a weekend job and the internship is M/W. but i don't know if i should mention it to my boss, like run it by her first...eventually becoming FT in the marketing dept will be much more lucrative, but i don't want to count on that.

lol i just checked and they literally took down the job post between yesterday and today. oops. thing is, i would have had to pass a background check, and i'm somewhat nervous about what would happen if they look up Silas and find out he's only existed for real since August 2017

 

I finally found a dealer in my city which is great but his price is the most I’ve ever paid per gram. It’s some good weed though so I can’t complain too much. Bout to smoke some right now, ayyy

 

all my dealer friends have told me if I pay more than 10 bucks per gram I'm getting ripped off so that's my life style now

 

Probably depends on where you live, but I'd say $15 a gram is about the max, but if you're buying ounces it should be about $10 or less.

 

shout out to me when I was 15 and paid 20 bucks for a gram once

 

$20 a g is the typical rate for a single G in my area. Then again, weed isn't legal here, nor is it legal anywhere nearby.

 

I always assume I'm being ripped off at least a little

not much you can really do when you don't have that many options

 

My personal dealers will sell a gram for cheaper but “dispensaries” sell for $20 and more if youre getting it delivered

 

Buying in bulk is really the only thing I can do.
