Well yeah, that was obviously the emphasis of my story.

For the Knoxville airport, they're advertising part time at $36k a year.

Yeah, I just traded in a 4-5 hour round-trip daily commute for a 312-step (I counted) one, so my Netflix time has almost zeroed out. Between August of last year (when I moved from Boston to NH) and 3 weeks ago, I managed to watch or rewatch, in their entirety: Mad Men, Gossip Girl, the last three seasons of the West Wing, Jessica Jones, and the Killing. JUST in my commute time.

Hot damn that's a long commute. Were your data bills insane? I would love to work close enough to walk, but I live out in the BFE suburb. Every job I'm interviewing for has a commute between 25-45 minutes. Not the worst, but still feel like I'm losing time.

That's a pretty normal-person commute... I definitely went from one extreme to the other. Thankfully, I had a company phone with my previous employer, so I just tethered my iPad to that.

Yeah. I just live far enough into the country (and I come from a big city) that I'm in a constant state of annoyance while commuting. It's not healthy. Hahahaha, that's perfect really. "Sorry, not sorry."

Same! I live about 70 miles north of Boston, so if traffic wasn't a thing that existed, I could've sucked it up -- getting there during non-rush hour takes about an hour flat, and I could've dealt with that. But the reality was that I was waking up at 4:30am and not getting home until 7:00pm, and it was sucking the life out of me. I took a massive pay cut with my new job, but the time and work-life balance return is priceless, honestly.

Yeah. I worked at a law firm downtown Oct. 14-Sept. 15, and it was an hour in, and an hour and fifteen back every day. I was drastically underpaid, spent most of my time there sick, and gained like 25 pounds. I'd rather be poorer and healthy than putting myself through something like that. It's made my job search more picky, and I'm lucky I'm able to be so selective. (Still live at home, which isn't my favorite, but I'd rather make my peace with that than deal with the health issues I had all over again.)

SAAAAAME. That commute is probably 90% of the reason I've gained the weight as I have in this past year. I was making bank in Boston, but yeah, the complete lack of midweek free time was not worth it. I was so stressed out and could barely enjoy my weekends because it was the ONLY free time I ever had. I will so toast to being poor and happy!

When I finally snapped, I booked a three week vacation to Spain and Italy with my tax return and only told my parents and best friend. I worked the job and my second retail job sixty hours a week for four months, paid off my student loans, and set aside money to travel on for those three weeks. My two weeks' notice was a complete blindside to them. So was when three days later I was in Barcelona.

A verdant blend of essential oils with traces of sweet orange, bergamot, a hint of lime and cedar.

Oh, no. I knew what I was taking. I didn't think it'd last that long, though.

Bergamot and Cedar are always excellent choices. That sounds like it smells nice, but also sounds like a LOT of work.

I just wear Acqua di Gio.

That's not bad at all for part time. How are the hours?

I have no idea what my end goal is for school at this point. I really want to get into forensic anthro at this point but I don't think I can afford to leave my job for all of the labs it will entail.

Sent you the job link in a message.

I have a buddy, also in New Jersey, who is getting his degree in biology to work in forensic anthro. He got a BS in Criminal Justice, and they told him he needed both to get into the field. Will your job not work around classes for you?

Sia is singing the end credit song for Finding Dory and this made me giggle.
