We spent days trying to nail down a cover and we recorded the scratch tracks tonight. We will be doing "You Belong with Me" by T Swift.

 

We could do a Saves The Day/Say Anything/Two Tongues comp. I'd submit a couple songs to that. I also really think we NEED to do another brand new comp.

 

We will definitely do another Brand New one. If they have a new album coming out soon, we may want to wait til after its out.

I think I'm gonna have to cancel my submission. Between finals and work, I don't think everyone in the band will be able to find the time to get together and record it and then for me to mix it.

@bradsonemanband DashboardProfessional and I are doing a collaboration on You're So Last Summer by Taking Back Sunday for the comp!

 

Really considered stopping working on the cover I'm currently working on and doing a Taylor Swift cover. I don't think I'm going to, but I definitely think her name should go into the hat for a future comp.

 

I put Taylor Swift on the polls once and not many voted for it. I'd love to do a whole T-Sweezy one though. Or maybe just a "pop mixtape" or something. I dunno.

 

This would be fun, and probably work out better than a Taylor only one. I'd love to kill my voice on some Passion Pit, or get weird with Melanie Martinez or something. hahaha

 

I think the biggest issue with doing a Taylor Swift mixtape is the reps that go after bands who cover her songs without their permission. I know bands who have spent money to record a Taylor Swift cover in a studio only to have it trashed by court order. Idk what the schematics of it all was, but yeah didn't sound good.

 

Just finished recording my vocals. Now to do some editing and send it off! Incoming Brad!

 

Doing one more listen through of Smooth and then going to submit this bad boy!
