Definitely weird there was no new music, but I hope that it was an enjoyable show overall

 

It was kinda reminiscent of when I saw fall out boy do a Christmas radio show. It felt pretty rushed and it wasn't the greatest setlist for older fans but people ate up the hits. I was hoping for a throwback or even a Fever melody like the last tour.

The line situation was a mess. Mostly because of people trying to scalp or sneak their way in.

 

To see an arena band in a 400-person room

 

...AND hasn't played a show in 9 months.

 

I doubt it. They almost always play CLE on their tours. I can’t remember the last tour that didn’t hit CLE. If anything, they’d want to return to make it up to the hundreds of people who went down there but couldn’t get in.

 

So when did you actually get a wristband? Didn’t panic tweet at 330 telling people it was sold out and to not come to venue?

 

I would say around 3:45. I would say around 30% of the people who didn't get bands stayed the entire 4 hours to get turned away at the door.

 

Really cool show tonight

First time seeing them and wish they played a few more old songs but it was a once in life time thing so no complaints

Very shocked they didn’t debut a new song though

This could be huge. If it snows bad enough tonight that my office is closed tomorrow, I may be able to make this.

 

I would look at the set list from last night before going. It took everything out of me to get in there and, while it was a great performance, it was not the best set list. Although they will probably make the live debut of the new song then since it releases tomorrow.

 

Honestly I’m hoping the Bohemian Rhapsody cover is dead. It’s great but I’ve seen it live like 7 times now

 

There a handful of songs I wish he'd drop from the set ("Let's Kill Tonight" especially) but that's a pretty standard new-era Panic set. He's not gonna throw in crazy rarities given the makeup of the band's audience these days. The Too Weird-era tour with Walk the Moon was really the last time he was gonna bust out deep cuts.

Once the new album drops, I doubt there will be any non-singles in the set from the back catalog.

 

If they at least played Nine In The Afternoon and The Fever medley I think I would have been 100% satisfied

 

Pretty stripped down stage, so I doubt Nine got cut because there was no keyboard.

 

The Gospel Tour setlist was money. That tour didn’t come here but they did a radio festival, so got to see an hour long version of that set.

I’ve seen Panic! on every major tour since 2006. The only song by them that I missed out on was “Memories”. For whatever reason, they skipped it on our Vices headlining show and never played it in Denver again. I believe that’s the only deep cut that they’ve played live I haven’t seen. (I would kill for Far Too Young to Die and The Good The Bad and The Dirty to get an airing)

I think the Pretty. Odd. tour will always be my favorite but they aren't even close to the same band now. I didn't get to see them on the Vices and Virtues tour with fun. but on paper that is my favorite setlist. But, obviously, Brendon is a much better performer now than ever.

 

He said in an Instagram Live post not too long ago that he was probably going to stash it away for a while.

 

Eh, I've seen Twenty One Pilots at The Grog Shop plenty of times, where they had a full piano. They definitely could have fit a keyboard on the stage, if they wanted.

 

After the show announcement happened on Sunday, a Pretty. Odd. song popped up on my iPod randomly and I thought how cool it'd be if Monday's secret show would have been a Pretty. Odd 10-year-anniversary show. Obviously completely unlikely, but it crossed my mind, considering it was a one-off small intimate show that was completely random.

Seeing last night's set list doesn't make me feel that bad for missing the show. It was beyond standard and pretty much the same exact set from their last tour - except 4 or 5 songs shorter. Would have definitely been cool to see such a big band in an intimate setting, but I have no regrets about not being there.
