Forza Horizon 3 is better. Then again, maybe that's not a fair comparison since FH3 is the best game of this console generation...

 

Probably going to jump on Game Pass to give this a try. It looks so goofy and almost relaxing.

 

We don’t play the game remotely as intended (or maybe we do) but almost getting shipwrecked because of a boozed up idiot at the wheel had me in stitches.

 

It's better in many ways but it does not have better arcade racing gameplay

 

Man Nier is continuing to be so good

In other news my wife showed interest this weekend in trying out Fortnite and won her 4th or 5th round so that was cool haha

 

Now that I finished SP:TFbW, Persona 5, TEW 2, and Nier I can FINALLY start working on my backlog. Feels good.

Took out the third Colossus(colossi?)in Shadow of the Colossus yesterday. Game is great, but the controls are the same issues I had with TLG. Just kinda wonky at times. Feels so accomplishing to take one down. Though I heard a spoiler I think on a podcast that makes me think I shouldn’t feel accomplished...


Started Dishonored the definitive edition. Always wanted to play this series. I have 2 downloaded already. So far I’m really enjoying it tho the stealth isn’t as responsive as I had hoped. A couple times I was spotted when I felt I was being p sneaky. Obviously I’ll have to upgrade as the game goes on.

 

Subbed to Game Pass to try Sea of Thieves. Waiting on the download. I figure I can sub for 2-3 months(at least) and get my full moneys worth with this and State of Decay minimum.

Haven’t been gaming much as of late, but want to jump in on Thieves in its infancy while people are trying to figure stuff out.

The answer is yes, in the game and irl.

 

I assumed it was something along these lines. I beat it again the other day and totally forgot about becoming that huge shadow monster for a bit

 

Played Sea of Thieves for bit over an hour and haven't got anything accomplished; in a bad way. Got a quest/voyage to pick up chickens. Didn't know you had to get a coop. Got coop. Couldn't get coop back on boat since I couldnt find boat. Found boat. Got attacked and killed by other players two different times. Got coop boat again. Sank boat. Spent a lot of time sailing back to get coop at port. Never made it to chickens.

Ugh.

 

Yeah I have to imagine if you want to engage with Sea of Thieves in any way you're going to have to be prepared to accept griefers as an inevitability. People suck. Main reason why I'm probably not going to get it.

The Division does that kind of hybrid PVE/PVP content the best possible way because it's optional. If I go into the Dark Zone, I know that I'm going to have to deal with rogue players. That was a huge problem at launch when the only way to get the best stuff was to go in there. But as The Division is now, there are so many ways to get gear that the Dark Zone doesn't feel mandatory, which removes a tone of stress from the endgame.

Designated areas of the map in Sea of Thieves where PVP can take place would've been preferable, I think. Maybe even work in some kind of lore reason, like make it some kind of Bermuda Triangle-esque place where the art direction gets weird and creepy. Then maybe also implement a system akin to Borderlands or WoW where you can agree to duel someone anywhere, even outside the PVP zones.

If Sea of Thieves had a single player story mode I'd definitely be interested

 

I'm super interested in the game as-is, to be honest. It's almost like what No Man's Sky was supposed to be, albeit in a pirate setting as opposed to sci-fi. It's just that one little detail holding me back, which kind of sours the whole enterprise for me. If I can't find a large group of people to run with, I don't want to put in a ton of effort working on a quest solo just to get jacked up by a passing group of players looking to ruin someone's time.

Also, before anyone says anything, I get that that's the point of a pirate game. That's totally fine, I respect Rare for going all the way in that regard. It's just why I'm personally not playing it lol

Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII (I know, I know, I just can't not get excited for Treyarch making another boots-on-the-ground CoD game and also I've been pretty obsessed with CoD: WW2 lately)
